Best channel ever. "Ā fīn ?" also has the meaning of: "Where have you been all this time ?" in a caring manner... As for"yāk ?", it's used as a sort of "is it?" or "isn't it ?", depending on the context. For instance, if someone tells you something hurtful or is making fun of you, you could answer with "yaaak ?", in the sense: "is it what we've come to?" (angrily or jokingly, depending on your tone and non-verbal cues). "Yāk la bās ?" = "No harm, I hope ?"

I appreciate everything in this channel! It's so hard to learn darija on internet due the poor informations online + the lack of teachers. I'm glad I found this channel. I study with friends but it's also good to have some other sources.

Hello, just a quick question. Can I say, "Kif Razhel Ddar"? Because Razhel is also man or husband. When will I change from Razhel to Mul?
@PainlessArabic5 жыл бұрын
Rajel d-dar is not really used in this context, because it would rather have a meaning of a househusband, the one who does cleaning, cooking and stays at home most of the time.

It seems that they are 5 Arabic dialects. in Arabic world. North Africa or Maghrebi, Egyptian, Golf and the forth one is split in two variants: Levant with Jordan Iraqi. By way, according to a touristic booklet, the North Africa dialect had been compared to the paysant French of the fifteenth century French countryside. North Africa people wrong assimilate Maghreban dialect to informal Arabic. I advice any North Africa dialect learner to pick up Arabic or originated from Arabic USED word first.
