I love this piece and the color! It turned out spectacular. I also really love how honest and open you are. That you show how you do things and that if something isn't quite the way you want it, or if you change your mind you can fix or adjust it. It totally makes it less intimidating and more do-able for the rest of us who are wanting to try painting furniture or a painting project. You have been such an inspiration to me, thank you so much! 💗

Wow! This woman, Mary, is fantastically talented with a beautiful spirit. I discovered here by accident. I had been looking at furniture videos, saw a vid of hers for Thrift shopping (wasn't "really interested" as don't need to be taught that!), but enjoyed so subscribed. I had no idea she was so talented and into rustic decorating and refurbishing. This piece is wonderful! Just love the punch against mostly White distressed background.

I love the usual white aesthetic, but your instincts were good in pushing the envelope on this item. I think that a bit of gold would have brought out even more of the character. But totally not your thing! Love the fresh feel of everything you do.

You are such a neat painter! When I paint, I have it all over my hands and use my clothes as a hand wipe. I have multiple dedicated clothes for painting. Don’t know how you do such a good job!

I was thinking the exact same thing, I keep my house as neat as a pin, but when I paint that’s a whole other story, also when we go out for Mexican food, I have a designated shirt for salsa spills! I decided to do that after a visit to a small Mexican restaurant that put their salsa in squeeze bottles and after having to squeeze really hard and the salsa went inside my sweater sleeve all the way to my elbow! Maybe I need to paint in a plastic poncho. 🤗

Love that colour! Normally I wouldn't like something that ornate, but the paint colour completely changed the feel of the piece. So nice to see you paint something other than white! The only thing I may have thought might have improved it would be to just try the white wax first without the paint to get a feel for it .

🔴Love the details on that table. I would have dulled down the white with a little of the blue-green or a little grey OR taken a dry brush and maybe old toothbrush and taken back out some of that white. Regardless, in the end, good save! Love it!

This is not a painting technique request, but another request:: would you consider doing a Q/A video? You have so many new viewers that maybe they would be interested. Can I suggest a few that maybe we women especially like to know? Please forgive me if they are too personal & just maybe choose the ones you want. Maybe other commenters here could give this a LIKE if they want you to do this & offer their own questions? 1. How did you & your husband meet? 2. Where did you live before you moved into this (childhood) home? 3. What do your parents think about all the changes you've made? 4. What prompted you to do YOUTUBING & how did you learn? Thanks Mary!

Wow, Mary! I've used a bunch of different bases for homemade glaze over the years, but I have to say - I really thought you'd made a mistake using the wax sealer instead of the clear glaze as your glaze medium. I know the consistency of that sealer is like Elmer's glue so it couldn't have been easy, but you really rocked this and made it work! Totally blew me away! I love that you wing it most of the time, or don't know exactly what you're going to do until it's done. It shows people who may be hesitant that you don't need to have a set plan. The important thing is to just start - the end plan will follow.

Hi, love your glaze technique. I have an idea for the table in case you decide to change the color in the future. I'm a big fan of black accessories myself but any color would do for this idea even using this on the table as is. Im always browsing Pinterest for ideas for painted furniture. I ran across a black table that had a stenciled top using Cutting Edges French poem stencil on the top. I thought of this stencil when you opened the drawer to show how it was lined with the script wall paper. You could even use your cameo to stencil the top. I would have to use a stencil since I don't have a cutting machine yet. Hope this will help for a future idea. I love painted furniture and all the endless possibilities. Blessings!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color!!! It is GORGEOUS!!! And the white wax is BEAUTIFUL!! Getting out of our comfort zones is hard!!! But, I always feel great, when I get off of my beaten path, and it turns out great!! I would like to share a tip with you, that would have made the waxing easier. Always use clear wax first, then go over it with a colored wax. Using the Clear wax first, allows you to have more control over the colored wax. Trust me, I’ve done it both ways, and using clear wax first, is the easiest way to do it for me. I feel silly, giving YOU tips. But, thought maybe you weren’t aware of this trick , so I wanted to share. And again, as usual, your work is exceptional!!

Hi Mary, I love your videos. Particularly the furniture makeovers and your room/space makeovers. You put much bigger people to shame the way you haul around those huge pieces of furniture : ) I love the colour and finish of this piece. From other KZbinrs videos I have watched, a clear glaze before the coloured glaze helps to control how much colour goes on top. It makes it easier to wipe off if you apply too much. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to the next one.

Absolutlily beautiful! I have a pretty old large shadow box with lots of detail. I have stared at it for month knowing I needed to do something with it. I would try a color in areas on it & never was happy. One morning I just woke up & I decided to paint it antique white. Which came out beautiful. It to least closely match the other colors that I have in my bedroom. You just help me figure out what was missing to bring out the details. I’m going to go through my collection of paints & see if I have glaze. If not Homedepot it is. Thank you for your amazing talent!
