Excellent advice about retying. It gets so easy to be lazy when all you want to do is catch a fish, but so often it leads to failure! Love the footage all around. Thank you for sharing it👍

Magnificent trout! Catching big trout out of clear, shallow water is so difficult but definitely a thrill. My advice on tippet is to use 6x fluorocarbon tippet in such water. Though more expensive, fluorocarbon is stronger than monofilament and will avoid the fraying more so. I really enjoyed this content. This creek is beautiful. I look forward to seeing more from Paint Creek.

It’s about 2 hours north east of Knoxville. Went up there last week and didn’t even see a fish. Probably have to wait until they stock

Our Paint Creek held wild and native as well as stockers, it got a chemical spill that killed anything that swam or drank it. It's now barren. Water everywhere is low. If I am still kicking gonna fish Tennessee, NC and Virginia more next year.

Oh man that sucks! I hope you have an amazing year next year!

I fish Paint Creek often and it definitely holds big fish during delayed harvest season as you already found out. Water is really low right now but can still be a blast when using stealth tactics! I mainly EuroNymph so it was cool to see someone catch these fish on a dry/dropper rig. Looks like you had a blast! I have a few Paint Creek and Gatlinburg videos on my channel because they are so close to home for me. Great Videos Bro!
@TheTroutGuy12 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome! I’ll be sure to check them out after work. I’ve never actually euro nymphed, would like to try it sometime. Do I just need different fly line?
@blazingtheoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@TheTroutGuy1 The 2 main factors in euro nymphing is your rod length and your leader because you're tight line nymphing. The fly line is hardly used, if at all really. It's an extremely effective method though. Maybe we could fish together one day, im no pro but could get you started and show you some tricks I've learned in it!

Yea for sure. I’d like to go fish some delayed harvest rivers over in NC

@@TheTroutGuy1 NC is definitely great for delayed harvest. I love that they stock, rainbows, browns, and brooks. I actually just hit a NC delayed harvest stream this past weekend and was able to catch all 3.

hey man! i’ve been watching your videos and i’m loving them. i fly fish but i’m a bit new. been doing it for a few years now. i’m in the smokey mountains this week and tm is my last day and i haven’t had any luck finding fish.. i’m staying in gatlinburg. any advice on what to do and where to go?
@TheTroutGuy12 жыл бұрын
Downtown Gatlinburg hold some big trout! They stock every Thursday I think. Just go to peddlers Steak house. And walk down from there. Use a dry dropper with a beaded egg pattern. If you’re looking for wild trout. Go over to the little river. But go to metcalf bottoms camp ground. And fish your way up
