Sorry, realized some of this drones on, and I missed out on my time-lapse due to a bad SD card... hope you like it just the same! Thanks!

To be honest, I think many ‘scrambler’ and ‘tracker’ modifications are crap, but this bike comes out looking REALLY nice. You have a good eye, and it shows. Thanks, it’s given me some ideas. Ride safe! Les in UK

I wasn't so sure about the paint scheme as you were explaining it, but seeing it on the bike it looks great. That 2k clear is great, you may want to consider wearing a nice resperator when using it if your aren't already, there is some chemical in 2 part clear that is super nasty and toxic. There are some freaky stories online of people really messing their lungs up with the stuff.

Loved the build, loved the bike. Just found a KZ440 that I wanted to do the same thing to before I ran across your videos. Now I want to do it even more. I would like to go with a little bigger/wider tires. Hopefully I can send you pics and updates. Would love to start my shop.

A KZ400 is the way to go! Simple, fun, parts are still out there. Max width on stock rims is 4.00... some go 4.25, but you cant run a front fender.

Love your work and videos, awesome! Only thing I dislike is the seat. brown does not match with the color of the tank and fender. Greetings from Germany.

Loved your simple build! I got a 79 myself and been thinking of making it a scrambler too. What did you do to lift the bike? just changed your rear shock? Are the front fork all stock height? Thanks!
@AimlessMoto2 жыл бұрын
I lowered the forks as low as they would go in the trees and the shocks were 10mm longer than the original.

Will that exhaust diminish the cooling ability of the fins on the right side ?? Looks good tho , did you have any trouble setting up the carbs ?? 👍🏻🏴
@AimlessMoto2 жыл бұрын
Nah, the owner of the bike now has put over 20k on it issue free. Yes, I was able to tune the carbs, I had installed the butterfly valves upside down causing a massive air leak when they were closed. Turned them around and was 100% better.

Bike looks amazing! What temperature and how long did you leave those Kawasaki tank emblems in the oven?
@AimlessMoto7 жыл бұрын
150 degrees, about 15 minutes. Any hotter/longer and you'll bubble the paint. It's just regular acrylic lacquer.

Hey I just got my '76 running yesterday, it's bogging bad. Did you re-jet? Mine has pod filters and a different exhaust.
@AimlessMoto7 жыл бұрын
I every single jet is stock on mine... you're probably running your floats too high, or the pod filter rubber is blocking the inlet to the idle circuit and carb piston... you either need to carve away the rubber, or do like I did and fit some PVC spacers between the carb and the filter.
@enthuz58237 жыл бұрын
+AimlessMoto Hey thanks for the valuable info, I'll give those tips a shot.

Your oil problem is worn valve seals or blow by on pistonrings. If you have good compression then its the valve seals. Change Them dont use oil addtives. That restore rubber seals becuse you have a wet clutch that need Friction Modifiers. Oil has to be good All time or your clutch will slip
@AimlessMoto6 жыл бұрын
markus p the problem went away after I fixed the carbs and changed the oil. It wad the gas draining into the crank thinning the oil causing the problem.
@markusp94326 жыл бұрын
AimlessMoto sound a little Strange. As the only Way it can get into the oil is valve seals and pistonrings. Maybe the valve seals had been dry for years and need to get lubricated by the oil. Before it wanted to seal. But good you got it fixed, im doing a kz 550 right now. later im gonna take the head of grind valves and put in New seals :)
@AimlessMoto6 жыл бұрын
markus p nice!

very nice build, but one thin i have to say and its youre seat is to long, on a scrambler/tracker everything that passes the middle of the rear wheel is dropped weight, english is not my native language, so i hope u understand me a little bit, building trackers myself

Hi what year is your Kz400
