This video is invaluable to those of us who really want to improve in this style - I've been using willow charcoal the wrong way for almost 5 years 😂.

Degas is a high bar, indeed. One of the greatest draftsmen in human history. He sought such perfection in his linework, and incredibly captured not only form, but light and mood as well. And Degas, himself, stressed the extreme deliberation of his efforts, indicating the great difficulty and concentration necessary to succeed so well at these tasks. ---Quite unlike the loosy-goosy haphazard approach we see in this video.

Does not look at all like Degas style.

This is not how Degas drew, Go to the Barber in Brum and see their example . I would be ashamed to publish this .
