OUTSTANDING! The Marines would be proud. You got such GREAT results from the older - but still excellent - Tamiya kit. Painting and weathering are SO good. A++++ all the way.

Many thanks you are very generous. I can’t remember if I applied a wash over the entire tank, now I tend to do more specific panel liner work as I don’t want to loose the base colour. Its all a bit of a journey. Would make the kit again.

Cheers, an older video now but when I made the Normandy dio from the M48 diorama base I watched it again and was still happy with the outcome. Thanks for comment.

Nice work.. i have one of these to finish so some useful tips here. But you have sadly made one error regards the cogged drive wheels .. they should be at the back of the tank, not the front as you have done.

Hi yes, it was highlighted to me on face book. I changed it around so some photos and maybe the dio show it in the correct position. I like the way the pigment went on this video. Hope my approach is useful to you.

the second 50 should be mounted in front of the loaders hatch...few of us used gunners since we used the main gun from the commander's position with extensions. The more fire power the better..

Hi when you apply the pigments and thinner on all the model you mixed them together or you apply the dry pigments first and then the moisture brush with thinner ? Thanks for you videos
@ctscalemodellinguk2 жыл бұрын
Cheers for comment. You can do it either way. I think I used enamel thinners on the M48 and clean up after. I find with pigments they look great but never seem to fix properly. I have tried a mig varnish which does hold the colour a bit better than most. I used pigments on my latest PzIV video. Hope this helps

Nice work. I do hope you didn’t glue the wheels in place though because the idlers and sprockets should be switched, unless that’s on purpose.

Hi, someone highlighted it on fp. On the dio some of the photos show this, some dont. Cheers for watching.

Hello, what kind of thinner is to be mixed with the pigment ? Is there a special kind for pigments or usual water thinner ? Thanks
@ctscalemodellinguk3 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching the video. I use ammo mig enamel thinner, mig 2019. I use this with oil paints aswell. You can use the thinner to blend and concentrate the pigmets after you have applied them aswell. Take care with how much you apply at first as when they dry the effect can be too much. My video on weathering jeep wheels give a sort of tutorial. If you need any more info let me know as that it why I run the channel. Thanks.

@@ctscalemodellinguk yes I guess so. For me it was much more difficult to find that kind of greyish/authentic base color. Since nobody sees it is actually a grey tone on the vietnam tanks. Thanks :)
@ctscalemodellinguk3 жыл бұрын
@@Lemmiwinks6 yes, that faded look. Pigments and oils just block the base colour aswell. I have thought of painting a tank really faded but always end up with it being a bit greener.
