I’ve incorporated long exposures in street previously, however I believe that I not only need to do more of it, but also try to expand more on those by creating alternative abstract pictures. Thank you for your continued inspiration and willingness to share.

Happy you felt you gained some value from the video.🙏🏽 Clarity and sharpness will always find a home in a good composition. Yet, the complete opposite can be true when you loosen up the self-imposed rules and just go off of feel. That's why I've been a fan of the tighter focal length lately. Currently at 40mm. 🤷🏽♂️☺️

Thank you for this. Especially the tip about using photos I already have to find compositions within them. It something I had known but forgot, so I appreciate the reminder. I look forward to revisiting old photos and seeing what I can find. I feel this will also help me previsualize while in the field creating new photos; opening a whole new avenue of creative expression.

You're welcome! You nailed it. Getting out to shoot is not always an option. BUT, our archives are there waiting for us! Happy you found this tip useful. And I agree, previsualizing is a massive help, now it will seem as though no photo will be lost to a hard drive. lol Cheers!

Geeez. You've got every angle covered.😁 If I had just an R6 I would've been good for the next 6-8 yrs. The Panasonic G9 must be nice, no? I feel Panasonic got some lowkey heat. I film all my "talking head" in-studio A-camera with the Panasonic G7. Love it! For my commercial work, I still use my Canon 6D (2012 release date😯), it's been a beast for me. So basically just lock the auto iso between iso 400 and 800? For moving trains I found out 2 sec does it best for me. But blurred people going out and in of the clear train, isn't good at 2 sec 🤔 I used mostly f8 though and iso 200. Was out in daylight.
@tahaphoto9 ай бұрын
Great approach. 👍🏽 You'll notice just how much adjusting you have to do based on the lighting situations you're in. For ppl blur, try 1/8, 1/5 , 1/3 sec again, experiment with all these times. Low iso outdoors makes sense. Curious to see your results 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

@@tahaphoto Funny I was going to ask if you shoot film. What’s your ratio of film to digital? Any go-to camera/film combinations? What’s your camera collection like? Do you post process your film shots?
@tahaphoto9 ай бұрын
@@prizepictures1 Film is at 25% to 75% digital atm. I find this to be true more in the winter months as I dislike "wasting" film on drab days. However, this must be more about the prices than the weather. 😁 My camera collection is tiny and compact compared to most folks I know (less is always more to me). So, I have a Ricoh R10 P&S/JCH Streetpan 400 BW and Nikon Lite Touch AF/Kentmere 400 BW, my go-to P&S's. Asahi Pentax SV 35mm/Kodak ColorPlus 200, Minolta SRT200 35mm, Kodak Ektar H35 (point & shoot), Love each one, I only want one more cam to date and that's the RICOH GR1 or 1s. Love to get that sooner than later. I feel RICOH will always be my vibe. I don't process my own film atm, no space BUT I saw the Valoi easy35 seems like a brilliant set up that has my attention. How about yourself??

AJ! I feel you had a comment earlier about ICM? I no longer see it here. I must've just missed it before it was deleted? Anyway, yes I'm fairly new to the term but have been "unintentionally" using this technique over the years, however sparingly. Nevertheless, it's really helped my creativity. BTW, do you have any other west coast street photographers that have inspired you or inspire you? Thanks and hello from a fellow Canadian.

If I was taking these kinds of pictures, I would use a low megapixel camera, high ISO, and a ND filter.
@tahaphoto9 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts... that formula sounds pretty good 👍🏽. There are so many approaches ✌🏽
@martingreenberg8707 ай бұрын
A ND filter is definitely required for daytime ICM. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried ICM during the day and the images are blown out due to overexposure. I try to keep the ISO as low as possible to keep as much dynamic range as possible. Low aiSO also helps me prevent overexposure. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

You need to learn the difference between lightroom and photoshop. Lightroom is for editing what's there. Photoshop is for manipulation.
