@@artgoat2400 thank you so much ✨😊i'd say pick a sketchbook with a thick sturdy paper( something around 200gsm would be fine) rest of it are regular materials

Do you use gesso to prime the paper? If so, how many coats do you recommend? Or, perhaps you use thinned shellac? I have heard that Shellac will eventually crack and peel? ​@@paintliveyt Thank you! The portrait is lovely! Lisa

@@craft-o-matic399 no I don't actually,I paint directly on the paper It's ok because I don't use linseed oil , just a little whitespirit

@@healingstrokes I've learned from books ,art university and videos,and then I practiced for years. I'm so glad you liked it 🤍✨ I recommend to find a good course and practice a lot , practice is the only way to get better and better .hope you start and enjoy ✨

whoa I never thought to paint with oils on regular sketchbook paper, does the oil absorb too much in the paper?
