Looking good Sam. That’s a nice diy heat shield. Curious on where the exhaust pipes go around the subframe but I’m sure you’ll cover that when you get there.

Yep that was impressive work making the heat shield. I saw that piece of metal and thought there is no way you're going to be able to knock that into a customised shape. Wow, you did it. Cool!

Looks sweet dude, great job! My only question would be, how does all that hammering and shaping affect the performance? The end product looked slightly more compact then at the start (obviously). Are you expecting that to make any noticeable difference? 🤔

It's definitely been compacted on the bends but it's actually considerably difficult to compress in the middle of the larger areas, it just keeps springing back outwards. I Crimped tthe edges that had been cut together to stop its guts from spilling out and the edges of the original sheet were thicker in general as its folded back over itself to stop the contents from spilling out. Overall it's designed to be manipulated, bent and even cut to fit the desired area. I'm actually a little worried it's going to be too thick still! Generally I'm pretty confident it's still going to serve it's purpose as it's totally overkill compared to the original mat thing that came out of the car, proper motorsport stuff apparently designed to withstand up to 1600c so hopefully my car never reaches that haha!
