Perfect paint job, looks fantastic, and I really like the color! I bet that Awlgrip paint will look perfect forever. Now you know every detail of how it's all put together so when you're inspecting the rig before going offshore you'll know exactly what you're looking at. Looking forward to seeing you step the mast!

Thanks Drake, I am very happy with how it turned out. I'll certainly know my boat very well. Looking forward to seeing how it looks once it's standing tall on deck again. Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you. I'm happy I stuck with my idea instead of going with white, like (most) everyone else around.

Looks GREAT! You might think about some reflective tape above the spreaders in a "dot dash dot" pattern, "R" for Rhapsody. Makes it easy to see on dark nights and makes it very distinct! See photos of Guenevere at anchor for peek of how it looks. No compression tube in the base for the tabernacle bolt to raise & lower?

no compression tube at the tabernacle bolt. I'm not sure it would be necessary there since the pressure of tightening the bolt would not be on the mast itself.

On ours it protects the side walls of the mast during the up/down. You are correct in that the nut/bolt never contacts the mast sides.

Nicely done! We certainly will have no problem seeing you on the water. :-) Question: It looks like you ran new wiring as well internally and that it may be the Ancor Duplex wire (2 strand) or similar brand. Is that correct, and if so, what gauge did you go with. I'm getting ready to re-wire my mast as well while it's down for painting, etc. Thanks in advance!

The wiring has 3 wires. Mainly because each fixture, the anchor/tri-color and the deck/steaming lights, have separate lights and they share a common ground. I'll have to check again on size. I visit my boat on the weekend so I'll be able to confirm and get back to you on the size that was installed. The rigging shop ran the wires through the mast. Still a lot of other projects ahead of me but I'm looking forward to being able to get out on the Chesapeake. Thanks for stopping by. :-)

Excellent, thanks. I suspect it is either 14 or 16 gauge wire. Didn't realize you were on the Chesapeake as well. Where are you docked out of?

Nice, I've got several friends down there at Herrington Harbor North. I'm currently in the northern Bay in Pasadena but attempting to get one of the Naval Academy-run slips this season in Annapolis just so I can do more sailing in the middle-Bay. Fair Winds!

looks awesome. great job!! what size wires did you use for the lights? how is that inner tube fixed inside the mast? is that additional track for a trysail? cheers

I don't remember the wire size. I think it's 14 gauge. Lights don't need much. The tube is attached with rivets. And the track was there when I bought the boat. I think it's meant for a storm sail. Thanks for stopping by.
