Painting a Gorkamorka Fort

At long last, the fort is finished. And just in time for those celebrating Orktober in the Southern Hemisphere. I did manage to knock a piece onto the floor and break it about a week later, but that has also been repaired, so we're still good.

The fort looks amazing! Gorkamorka is still one of my all time favourite games, so many fun memories of mobs and campaigns past. Wonderful work, carry on being awesome and take care.

Do you have any armies that don't have purple as one of their main colors?

@@DasNerdspiel - Yes. My Ventrillian Nobles have no actual purple (just Screamer Pink). My Stormcast also have Screamer Pink and white, but they do have some purple on their bases... I also have my Horus Heresy White Scars army - not a spot of purple on any of them!

Great Gorkamorka build, so many nice touches from the loot and bunks and towers to the glyph on the corrugated roofing. Could have been any dystopian apocalypse but the minute you see the windmill, you know its the Skid. Hope theres more vids in the future, I'd be happy to see miniatures and vehicles too, love the squigs with goggles.

Thanks! I do need to work on new vehicles and gubbinz at some point and I'm sure I'll be able to squeeze my existing vehicles into the video. And you can never have too many squigs, so that's definitely happening.

Thanks! I was a big fan of GW's studio terrain in the 90s, so I guess I hit the vibe I was shooting for.

@@DasNerdspiel Well, you're clearly showing your love to this game, which totally belongs to this era, and you try to match the terrain with the aesthetic of the time, so everything makes sense. I very understand the process, as for each project, I tell myself that I should keep it simple, and in the end, as I'm a stupid perfectionnist, everything ends to be way too complex and time consuming. OK, the result is also way better looking, but my progress in general are slow ^^ In the end, you're right because playing with amazing terrain is motivating, way more than a lame looking one (there is no shame playing with lame looking terrain, it's just not as motivating)

It's truly incredible what you've done. The video is very (too) well done for KZbin. In any case we would like to see more of your videos, you are very inspiring! Quick question, where did you find the structured metal plates?

Thanks! The metal plates come from a variety of materials. As I recall, there's some diamond and double diamond patterned styrene sheets from Plastruct (I think), as well as some chunks of a plastic basket, various bits of aquarium equipment, some needlepoint mesh, and a chunk of perforated PVC sheet. I'm probably forgetting something. You might be able to get a slightly better view of the pieces you're wondering about in the first video where I build the fort.

That is a good question. One of my goals was to give it enough detail where it doesn't look out of place next to other GW terrain. I do have the Octarius terrain, so hopefully we'll see at some point.
