I like the color scheme of these. That’s good, it looks a lot like what I would like to do for my group of old space marines. But I don't have an airbrush, I would do that with a brush.

Thank you :) Ah what marines do you have? I'll be using airbrush but more importantly normal brushes for video tutorials on this channel, as i know a lot of people would prefer the latter for their hobby So i shall try to cater for as many people as possible, and be as helpful as i can :)

Amazing video! I love the "heated metal" look you did on the flamer. Looks so good and adds a ton of realism to the miniature. It looked fantastic at just the base coat level, but once you started picking out small highlights and other details, it just took it to another level. Excellent work!

Thanks! I do like bacon :) They are flayed flesh so reddish skin tones is what i went for rather than just the traditional cream colour.

Thanks!! I hope that the rest of the box turns out well with the scheme. Not sure whether to stick with the colour for the librarian and the apothecary or try a slight deviation maybe on the shoulder pads or something for them. Maybe try a white polished marble effect on the apothecary?

The color scheme is very nicely implemented -- what compressor pressure do you work with when using the Speedpaint and how big is the needle used on the gun!?

Thank you very much! I tend to stick around about the 25-30 for pretty much everything i paint. Fo the needle i believe its 0.35, it's just the one that came with the airbrush when i purchased it :):)

Brand new to 40K and need to paint a whole leviathan box still. Need to accept that I’ll keep improving and that all my models don’t have to be perfectly uniform in skill.

Haven't bitten the bullet for an airbrush yet, so it's brush work for me. The marking on the legs look like tentacles. Are you leaning towards Krakens or other sea beasts?

It took me a while to try it out, and then i didnt like it - gave up and gave it away lol Years later i tried again and learned from my mistakes - now i love using it where it's appropriate :) But i still brush a lot as well, so it's a nice mix. Well i'm going for more of a dark eldar/mandalorian vibe with them - so house markings it will be, not really water themed as such - just more curvy iconography - still early days, maybe once get more of the box set done, i will get a feel for them :)

wow i wish i could use my airbrush to do that much haha the most i've used it for is base coating, mostly used it for priming, i just stick to brushes now. no idea what PSI you use to paint that close, very nice. i also have terrible aim with the brush, so i do think i'd never try to paint like that, but it is very effective. i pretty much exclusively do slap-chop and use contrast paints, so if i did paint your way i'd have to actually open my panel liner bottles for recess shading 😁 + would love to see sororitas painted with makeup i recently got oil paints and an odourless mineral spirit to force myself to get good at painting not only faces, but to try and paint them feminine too on sisters of battle its mostly a losing battle lol if that fails plan B is to try and get a powder'y dry brush of heavy white facepaint like a clown to see if that can look better i dislike painting faces, still going to force myself to do it though (i also have blood angels, and theyre all described to be beautiful, youthful, and angel-like in lore, so i want to paint them less rugged than i do other male minis) also loved the video, dont think i've ever seen someone paint that much of a mini with an airbrush

haha thank you, i tend to use it whenever possible these days, it just helps speed up things like the basecoats. But i will make sure i do a bit of Airbush and paint brush on the channel so people can follow along :) I normally stick to about 25-30 PSI for pretty much everything when i airbrush if that helps! Oh excellent, i hope that you enjoy experimenting and using the oil paints for the faces. The only thing i have done is weathering with them. Please do let me know how you get on! :) I enjoy painting Sisters of Battle more than marines, i prefer their armour - especially when it comes to highlighting! haha Glad that you liked the video, i'll be starting a 7 day Necron challenge tomorrow with a few different methods - including the good old airbrush and trying out different schemes. I think i'd like to do an army on Parade with them next year! Either them or Tomb kings. But i feel like i need to get my 40K socks on! :):)

A very good question! I tend to work mainly between 20-30 Psi, and i just use the regular needle that came with the brush - i believe 0.35mm needle! :)

I was in the same boat as you, I hated airbrushing - spent more time cleaning the darn thing than actually painting! Nowadays it's a great tool for me, i tend to add basecoats on where i can but a lot is still done by brush as i feel like i've got a lot more control.

I don't like using airbrish as much because you get a lot of overspray like you have here. And as a result the miniature looks more cheap than it could have. It looks kind of washed out, as if you are looking at it with water in your eyes. There is atime and place for airbrush, and that is definitely not the whole miniature

This one was a fun experiment, i wanted to see how much i could do with the airbrush, and how (and if) it would save me time. Don't get me wrong i still prefer using a brush for the majority of what i paint, but it's nice to dabble in these things :)

Don't get me wrong, this still looks better than most of us will ever paint, but I gotta say that your last step of edge highlighting is a major reason for thos. But even still I can see colors intruding on each other where they shouldn't. It almost creates a glowy effect, as if each surface is either reflective or emissive, casting its color on neighbors
