Painting a Sunrise

Thanks, Mike! Yes, the acrylic base layer is almost becoming the default start of my paintings at the moment. It helps tremendously to get a coherent image much sooner.

Its so pleasing to see you using your fingers to paint. I'm often using using my fingers to blend and soften. This often makes a better mark than a brush- Paul 😃

Thank you. The paper more or less flattens out by itself. If you want it to be really smooth you can have your frame maker mount it on a piece of board. You can then frame it like a painting.

Thank you for your kind words! I used acrylics only for the blue bas color. The actual painting is done in oils.

I am not liking like the sun reflection going up into the painting. It looks out of place, or not diffused enough, it might be toned down a bit from the reflection of water, or removed from the highlighted cloud layer, but i bet you tried that. Anyways, i like the painting but that one thing stands out and looks strange to me . Just saying.
