Usually I don’t comment under any of the videos, but I have to tell you: the way you explain things, and methods you use are so easily followed, I’m amazed!! I started to paint mostly cause I was rubbish at that, and really wanted to get better, so watching your videos helped me to improve a lot, Ryan!! Thank you so much for your videos ;)

Stay Creative Painting thank you Ryan that is so sweet. How long have you been painting for? See myself only about 10 or so years. However in art of any genre or type I find even those with a Masters are still learning new things everyday. Myself? I am self taught.

Hi I loved the painting and i love waterfalls they are so peaceful. Q. When you were bringing down the white on dark how do you correct a mistake ie you pick up the dark underneath thats too much, or vis a versa. I know you have to be very light in your touch. Would a fan brush be better here? I have problems with clouds and waves, oceans for a beginner could you do or show if you havent a lesson. Thankyou again. A from Australia.
@RyanORourkeArtist6 жыл бұрын
If I accidentally pick up too much of a color I just tend to remove it from the brush with a cloth, then proceed to paint. A fan brush could work, though it wouldn't apply as much paint so it may take longer.. but hey, it would give you the opportunity to incorporate more detail. In regards to the cloud, wave, and ocean tutorials, I have lots of those on the channel and would recommend going through the old videos and subscribing :)
@sainemade66045 жыл бұрын
Incredible...What have applied before painting is that a water?
@RyanORourkeArtist5 жыл бұрын
That was just a little bit of titanium white paint. With that said my brush is almost always slightly damp
@Zombieslayer4746 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan, When you apply the paint in the background are you using a thick application (a lot of paint) and does it make a difference in drying time if you use a thinner application (less paint)? Also at end of your 10 minute paintings, is your background fully dry when you apply the final/extra touches (clouds, highlights, etc)? Thanks
@RyanORourkeArtist6 жыл бұрын
Generally a greater application of paint will stay stay wet longer. If you have thin paint on canvas it will soak in and dry fairly quickly. In regards to the extra little steps at the end, I don't tend to wait and let it dry however for specific subjects it could help (like when trying to sharpen/thicken a subject in the foreground) Hope that helps!
