I was born in Africa (Angola).The most common landscape is "savana", the one you painted. A wide space with very few trees and dry grass. Austral Africa has the most beautiful sunset of the planet, allways around 6 p.m.

Ryan , I am always happy whenever i actually complete a painting and thats because of the way you teach. theres only been 3 other artists that teach at least for me I can not speak for others that really take the time to show the whole shabang ... Bob ross was my first in oil painting and you in acrylics ... I was wondering if you can do your 10 min videos with your pallet of colors and names of them next to it ? I finally got alot of acrylic paints and canvases in which i am thrilled and cant wait to paint and finish them all. instead of being afraid to finish just because i got stuck . watching it visually as well as you explaining it would be so helpful to me that i can see about how much of this or that color your using or when your wetting the brush ...i know you teach us a lot now for some reason im noticing that no matter how much lighting i have on, it still feels like i cant always see it as good as others I am very grateful that i have you to learn from you explain so much which has also helped me in oil painting as well . if you already have videos like that would you send me the link ... and a big thank you for posting all of your hard work and sharing your passion

I can't believe this painting is done in ten minutes. Amazing! Of all the paintings you have made, this is my favorite by far. I am inspired to paint. Thank yo, Ryan. By the way, I noticed that you usually paint nature or landscape. Could you please make a ten minute video tutorial on how to paint an animal. I wonder how fur is painted. ^_^

While I would love to make something like that I don't think I could accomplish believable fur/feathers in a 10 minute time period. If you're really interested in that subject matter I would implore you to check out Lachri Fine Art or Jason Morgan here on KZbin. They both do a fantastic job with that stuff :)

6:27 " the bottom portion is much larger than the top " . i would like to point out that in the lower right part of the tree, the branch seems to be a bit thinner than the top branches. not sure if u did that on purpose but just wanted to let you know. besides that , great work on your drawing and your commentating

I don't mean to be a skeptic here! I really like this painting tutorial! I have given you a like. I was waiting for the reflection of the tree to be painted and ..... it didn't happen. I guess you were trying to beat the clock, It happens... Keep up the good work!
@RyanORourkeArtist
@RyanORourkeArtist 6 жыл бұрын
The tree is actually set back from the water a fair distance, in both African landscape scenes. As you can see, there is a fair amount of grass in the foreground. As the grass is close to the water, it does have a reflection, unlike the tree. It is important to remain cognizant of how far away your subjects are in relation to your water source as it will heavily affect the amount of reflection cast.

From the perspective of the painting, I am actually finding it hard to get that point. anyways you are the master, and I am still struggling to get my paint brushes out(that's if I have any)! :) Will try n get your point. :) Cheers n keep up the good work!
