This video deserves so much more love than it has gotten!!! Watching you struggle through to complete your goal was rough to watch.... but the ending was beautiful! In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war.... but allies and long lasting friendships can be found if you open your eyes.

I get so much from these videos, thanks for all the effort that goes into them. I struggle with the same things, im a night owl so find it difficult to get alot done when im working during the day. My painting always needs fixing, which makes finishing a model so difficult, and if I'm not happy, I can't paint the rest. My big takeaways from this are pre planning colours and thinking of the job as a whole, not as one model I have to get perfect before I move on. Thanks for the inspiration.

Really cool. Now I'm working on this box too. 🖌Out of curiosity, I will measure the painting time after this.

I feel your pain, I just finished my Leviathan Tyranids myself. Of course, it took me 3 months lol. It did feel good to get it done! Great video! 24 hours though... it hurts me to the core to even think about. 😅

First of all, I love you and I am glad to be able to call you my friend. We have been through so much shit together and we helped each other. A random guy buying a commission and a random painter painting my minis. I almost cried watching the video, I didn't because my black hollow heart does not allow me ;) I will proudly bring them to adepticon and will try to match it with the rest of my army haha Many thanks for the gift and many more thanks for being in my life. :*

It took me three months to paint the Tyranid half of the Leviathan box. They were such a nightmare to paint, but they look so awesome when done. Then again, Thousand Sons are my favorite army to paint, so there's something wrong with me.
@TheOctabreaker11 ай бұрын
maybe a stupid question, I'm just now starting to watch your videos, and I want to start painting soon. can you mix nuln oil with a colored paint to get the darkened effect in the parts you want to have a shadow?(the actual name I'm blanking because I've watched so many videos lol!), like you would a wash? I hope that made sense.

You couldn't pay me enough to willingly sit down and paint an entire leviathan in a day. Screw that. Takes 2 weeks to paint a combat patrol box.
@ApexBovine11 ай бұрын
Holy moly you can paint a combat patrol box in 2 weeks? 0-0 man I’ve painted and stripped the same tactical squad for the last last 8 months trying to settle on something I like. Respect man, good on ya.

I do not get why ppl would treat this hobby like a race against time. This hobby more thn anything else teaches you patience. Patience and time are the most important part. There is no reason to squeeze an army paint job into a tight timeframe. You get better results when having no time limit or organize yourself to have enough time. Nobody except paid artists should ever risk getting frustrated stressed or attrition when following a hobby.
@pst534511 ай бұрын
p.s.: If you want the easiest Tyranid army paint them like Giger Aliens. Black, off black edges/highlights. Glossy black carapace and beige joints. Metal teeth, hot glue strands for saliva, done.
@ataraxiapainting11 ай бұрын
Yea tbh I couldn’t agree more… tho there are some cases where I think it might be also interesting to give ourselves a timeframe. Why? Because otherwise we might get lost in way too many details and get frustrated still! Plus in our hobby we tend to accumulate way too much; its satisfying to see grey plastic acquire color! And this experience still managed to teach me a lot. Also, I was kinda forced to do this because of my friend and procrastination. But I’m sure anyone can find a better way to more equally devise the hours needed to accomplish this! Thanks for your input tho! I always like to take my time finishing the models I care about… but I also like to see full armies painted!

i got to the point this year i have finally had enough.. Having to rely on other people to enjoy my hobby was a big mistake. Just got tired of being messed around...even on purpose. tried solo 40k with a decent paper AI ,this kept my hobby going for a couple of years but the problem is i played 7th ed. I don't have the fortitude to read 8 codex's to play 10th...so im done. Love your vids and your quirky ways !!1...An air kiss from here in the UK !!!!

I find it amusing when these miniature painting influencers mention taking coke while painting, even if as a joke.. but take it from me, you are making your painting experience more difficult.. Uncontrollable shaking hands. Impatients for paint to dry. Focus fog, where you concentrate so hard everything merges. (And sometimes if you're really bang on it) hallucinogenic colour shifts. It may be funny to joke about, but its funnier seeing how much extra equipment and effort is required just to get a decent level of paint job 🙈
