This has become one of my favorite ways to paint and I use it on all of my undead for any game including Conquest. Thanks for the video.

Just grabbed the OD warband the other day and this will come in handy when I start to paint! Thanks for a great video!

Thanks! It's a lot of steps, but each step is pretty straightforward and there's nothing that's too technically tricky. The whole unit took about 2-3 hours.

Nice job, what colour did you prime the miniatures with?
@JollyLark Жыл бұрын
The Primer is Pro-Acryl's black. It's a nice, basic, matte black.

Do you varnish your minis?
@JollyLark Жыл бұрын
Short answer: Sometimes. When I do, I almost always use Vallejo's "Mecha Matte" varnish. Usually applied with an airbrush (for groups of models), sometimes with a brush (for just one). Long answer: It depends on how the miniature is going to be used and the look I'm going for. I'll always varnish minis that are going to get more time on the table and/or get handled more often. For example, I'd always varnish minis I was going to use for teaching games or that other people are going to use. I really like the look of a model that has a consistent matte finish, but matte varnishes can sometimes dull metal paints. If there's model with a lot of metal, I'll sometimes skip the varnish or apply a satin varnish over the metal, after applying the matte. For example, I didn't varnish these since they're mostly metal and the style of their unit bases means I won't be touching the minis that much; it's easy to pick them up by their bases. You can also get some neat effects by using gloss varnish on certain areas: blood, mouths, water, etc. - anything you want to look wet.
