Awesome, two videos in the same week! I really appreciate what you do and most everything you share applies to all cars. I have learned so much from you. Thank you! When I heard your song in the last video, it sounded like Johnny Cash. Today I realized it was a new song all about you. Pretty cool! I also, recently bought an Aero-Pro A610 LVLP spray gun. Your gun looks to be a very similar my LVLP gun. I would also be curious to know what gun settings, tip sizes and air pressures you're using.
@VinylVillageGarage2 ай бұрын
That them song was an awesome gift, as for my paint gun this is a new one and the very first time using it. I had a Mac tools Gun but it’s like 10 years old. It was time for a new one. As for tip size the sealer, base and clear I used the 1.3 tip, opens the fluid knob all the way to max and set then fan on my test pattern about 8”. I set the line air pressure to the gun to 60 the reduced it further at the regulator on my gun. Unfortunately I can’t say what pressure exactly but 30 psi ish. I don’t trust the gauge on that regulator I set it to when it sprays a nice atomized pattern without it turning into a fog. To much pressure you loose a lot to over spray and not enough it will not flow well and look an orange peel
@RonWatson-b6u2 ай бұрын
@@VinylVillageGarage Overall it seems you liked the gun. I'm hoping to start reassembling soon to check gaps and some metal work. Not much, just lower front fender patches and start blocking. Thanks again.

You're doing a fantastic job and are quite an inspiration for the home garage builder. I had the same problem as you while putting epoxy on my rockers. I had the car on jack stands as high as I could, but the lines and the air filter on the gun made it very difficult to get down low enough to spray it properly. I love the idea of the swivel joint, and didn't know that they existed until I saw this video. What kind is it, and where did you get it? Also, I noticed that you didn't paint the inside at the top of the doors like you did for The Great Pumpkin. Will that be done when you paint the rest of the door, or is it unnecessary since the chrome and rubber seal covers most of it? Thank you.
@VinylVillageGarage2 ай бұрын
The swivels I got from Amazon, as for the doors the paint I won’t be going any further on the inside Or jamb area. When I paint the outside i will cover the top outer part where the weather stripping goes. I am hopeful to get the paint done in the next few weeks weather and temperature allows

Here's a question from someone who has never painted.... is there any concern with you spraying the rockers with base and clear and getting some overspray onto the lower edge of the doors? When you go to but base on the doors, will any clear overspray affect how the doors turn out if the bottom 1-2" of the door have some clear on them but the rest of the door is still in primer?
@VinylVillageGarage2 ай бұрын
very good question, if left untouched the paint over the clear will not stick or might wrinkle. I will be sanding the face of the doors before they get painted to prevent any issues.
@Danno74Z2 ай бұрын
Hi Jon, What were your air pressure settings for the three separate stages of paint? Looks like a new spray gun too. Aeropro A610 (R500) LVLP. On the Great Pumpkin you used a HVLP spray gun. Likes dislikes on the A610? Also, I purchased this - NANPU 1/2" NPT Industrial Grade 3 Stage Air Drying System - Particulate Filter, Coalescing Filter, Desiccant Dryer & Air Regulator, Metal Bowl, Manual Drain, Suitable for Paint Spray& Plasma Cutter - $169 Works good.
@VinylVillageGarage2 ай бұрын
I got the email for the line dryer link thanks, I also have a plasma cutter that would probably get some use with the moisture problem resolved. Good eye this is a new paint gun and also the very first time I have used it. So far very happy with the results. My old gun is like 10-15 years old. Bit outdated and they do wear out. Air pressure I regulate the compressor to 60 psi then the gun regulator is like 25-30 I tune it to how it’s spraying for the best material transfer with minimal overspray or fog but high enough it atomizes well and lays flat.
