Does look good. I put some figures in mine but they can hardly be seen, so I never bothered with subsequent coaches. Also they often need their feet or legs chopping off so they fit. As you say, depends what level of detail you wish to go to. I agree with you to mark the ends as it makes life easier. I use tippex as a marker, or a permanent marker. Both dry quick. I reckon with decorations for sale so cheap, it may well be possible to put a string of LEDs in a rake. With their own power pack on board the lights won't flicker.

Hi Laurie i tried the figures in a GWR coach but had to strain my eyes to see them ,your right about chopping legs of its a bit cruel though lol,forget lights i can live without them,---Tony

TheZimma To be honest I only have three lighted coaches - I can live without them too. Too gimmicky really. I prefer the simplicity of model trains running through scenery. Lights and sound are occasional items of interest for me but I don't need them.

Hi Tony, I see you made an improvement on the interiors of these coaches by painting, it makes a lot of difference to the dull grey plastic partitions/seating they normally have. Thinking to do the same with some of my coaches. Thanks for the demonstration, Well Done. Rob

It's worth mentioning that most plastic parts need a quick wash . This will allow the wash/paint to stay smooth & even .

Glad to help I also paint the chassis with track colour paint to cover the shiny plastic and change the wheels for metal ones (they run so much better) i "like" to improve my models as i think this is a part of the hobby that gives me a lot of pleasure My railway is all about the trains and not scenic so any little improvements increases my pleasure "playing trains" I look forward to seeing more of your of vidios
@TheZimma7 жыл бұрын
Yes the metal wheels make a vast improvement on looks and running,i allways oil the axels as well as that makes a difference to the running,do you have any video's
@christopherpearson44897 жыл бұрын
no i have not produced any videos .if you use oil is it non mineral? as this will soften the plastic; i use pencil lead as this is graphite and does not harm the plastic or a silicon based lubrication should be used to prevent the plastic from softening i have fitted some of my rolling stock with peco brass bearings but this is hard to do as you have to drill out the axle cup from an angle to get the bearing in but the effort is well worth it as the running is so much better some of my stock will role for forty feet with a small push! my stock are all weighted with a minimum of one ounce (carriages two ounces) as this helps with the ride of the vehicle and most of my trains are short compared to prototype trains and so weight is not an issue. i get very few derailments on points and crossovers. scrap lead or plasticine are my usual materials for this but anything heavy will do as long as it has mass
@TheZimma7 жыл бұрын
Hi yes the oil is non mineral but have used 3 in1 oil years ago with no adverse effects , i also put weights in the rolling stock and a lot more in the loco's for added traction on my inclines,ill give the brass bearings a miss ! , i use lead and bluetack to stick it in with

You guys should look at ACME european models interiors and then call this painting an interior, god damn it...
