these are the most beautifully painted figures I've ever seen i swear. i just got a Tamiya 35 scale tank #35378 and it has 5 DAK figures. Also im gonna see if a store in my province of Ontario will source the Scale75 figures for me, they import the busts and more expensive sculpts, i dont see why they wouldn't get those for me. i got a story for ya. so im disappointed with vallejo so much i started switching my paints over to AK Interactive, the 3rd gen 236 line and the new 3rd gen figure line. I purchased a vallejo Panzer Aces 70.310 old wood and i was expecting a nice beige almost buff color, and what did i get? brown. i messaged vallejo, do you think they got back to me? lol. so it made me think if they mess one one color they must've messed up more before and they will continue doing so. I have 70 vallejo model and panzer aces paints i can wipe my butt with.

i think i asked you this before, but the pants you say you mixed with English uniform, Buff, and Ivory for the tan. Those are the pants correct? but the dude with the mp40 is his top a solid English uniform, like the dude with the rifles his top's a solid Russian Uniform WWII?
@lpjmodels3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply my man, I used various shades of the English uniform, buff and ivory for the tan uniform. Just to add a bit of variation. English uniform on its own is way too deep !
@MF-kv8cn3 жыл бұрын
@@lpjmodels thanks for the reply. so i recently acquired a vallejo panzer aces color 70.310 Old Wood and its nowhere close to the hue it's supposed to be. i did a lil more digging and its not just me but other people have a problem with vallejo consistency. for example olive green today won't be olive green tomorrow from a different batch. I'm thinking of switching to AK interactive 3rd gen, any thoughts on them or their consistency?

James@LPJ Models - Excellent figure painting Tutorial video. Question: Vallejo Model Colors dry a bit slower which enable you to do the needed color blending when you add on each layer of color?
@lpjmodels4 жыл бұрын
Hello Mr. Peter, most of the time I'm building up gradual layers of slightly darker or lighter colour, the layers aren't blended as such into the previous layer but optically blended with slight colour shifts each layer.

When you did your "webbing", does that mean outlining in black?
@lpjmodels4 жыл бұрын
No, I rarely outline in black, the webbing was painted in leathers and tans etc, for outlining I will use a step or two darker of the base colour that the pouch sits on
@joshmeads4 жыл бұрын
@@lpjmodels do you always outline everything on the figure? Thanks
@lpjmodels4 жыл бұрын
@@joshmeads no not necessarily, It depends on how much I want certain details to pop, outlining can be a useful tool for certain things but it's easy to overdo. Something that I just remembered if you want a real dark shadow is to mix in a bit of purple ( a shadow colour often used in painting ) in with your darker base colour or as a glaze, only subtly though, this will give a cooler tint to the shadow colour pushing it back a bit more without being crazy
@joshmeads4 жыл бұрын
Is there anyway to tell which details should be outlined? Or is it more of an artistic decision. I'm relatively new, so I don't really have the artistic instincts yet. Thanks

@@lpjmodels thanks, I bought a Dragon premium edition the 1941 mariupol SS the detail is great best I can get before resin but there for my new marder 1 build Eastern front I'm doing in a whitewash I needed something decent even If i can start build up on resin heads Dragons body and weapons in this set is outstanding compared to my other Dragon or miniart figures! I know miniart have a couple of new sets out with extra resin hornet heads in them interesting move for them hopefully we get them like this in all there new sets! The normal heads are on the sprues too but it's picking out the detail I've noticed with mine! I'm just starting to try better face painting I've been at it 24/7 since Saturday resin is definitely the way to go for the nice paint there's not much check bone or nose crvases and jaw line to really pick out proper to give that shade so it's pick and choose on the plastic ones the now! But I'll have alook at them two sites now thanks! If you know anymore in UK drop me a wee msg I'd be very grateful mate!

No problem ! Its always a challenge with styrene but the quality has gone bannnas since the mid 00s some of miniarts heads aren't bad as well as ICM and the dragon Gen 2 if you can find them. I dont do a lot of figures so I tend to get resin ones as one or two isn't too bad to drop the money on, if I were doing a big dio I'd be happy with any of the above. Emodels.co.uk do a good range of miniart and icm figures. Dragon are getting harder to find jadlamracingmodels.com and wonderland have some , I havent used jadlam but I hear the name crop up, and wonderland have a scant selection. Emodels though I cant reccomend highly enough !
