Beautiful! Hope that we get to see it fired! This is all new to me. I have not used underglazes or the stencils.
@WildAcornsArtStudio4 ай бұрын
This was already fired, and sold. Let me see if I can find a photo of it. Underglazes look the same fired as they do when you glaze them, except the fired pieces are glossy and a little brighter.

Always enjoy your videos and listening to you talk while you are working on your pottery. It’s like you are having a conversation with us without us being there. Relaxing 😊. Where do you get your favorite transfers? Thanks

Hi. I love the bowls and mugs you do like this. My mug pinged when it was glazed, so I have to fix it.

It’s all about knowledge and your channel added a new viewer; me! you’re teaching me new and effective techniques for under glazing. I’ve survived the ‘20,’21 years with hand sculpting & trimming pots in my garage. 👋 Mary Rose

I’m not sure what underglazes are made from, but I find it interesting that your reds, yellows ,and oranges smell funny. In glass, reds, yellows, and oranges are made with gold. These are the glass colors that can only be made by adding gold. The other colors are made with different metals. Maybe the gold adds a strange odor??? Love your bowl!!
@WildAcornsArtStudioАй бұрын
@jeanmartin6410 That's interesting about the glass colors. I'm not sure what the organic ingredients are that create these colors for red, orange and yellow, but whatever it us, they attract bacteria and mold. And that's why they smell so bad. I'm going to add a couple drops of bleach to them to kill the bacteria and that should help. Thanks for watching! ❤️ 😀

@@jackiemorrison2661 Yeah, I'm trying to get better about that. I think I did a kiln opening right after that, which showed it finished. Thanks for watching! ❤️

These are beautiful!!! Where do you get your stamps?😍
@WildAcornsArtStudio5 ай бұрын
A lot of them came from Hobby Lobby, but I also have a ton of them from a company called Stampin' Up. Not sure if they're still around or not.

How long can the glaze be on before it goes into the kiln... I don't have my own kiln❤
@WildAcornsArtStudio4 ай бұрын
It can be on there for months! As long as it's not peeling off, or is covered with dust, it should be fine. If you can't fire them for awhile, I would suggest laying a sheet or a piece of plastic over them to keep them dust-free.

Hi Lisa, I built two mugs and put gnome medallions on each cup, I then proceeded to glaze the gnomes with Duncan underglaze and when I finished I realizes my cup should have been bisques first . Do you think the glazes will still work or should I wash everything off 😢
@WildAcornsArtStudio5 ай бұрын
Hi! If it's underglaze, then go ahead and bisque fire it, and put the clear glaze on afterwards. It should be fine, as long as the bottle says it's underglaze. (You can put underglaze on greenware or bisqueware.)
