Seeing the eclipse was honestly the most magical moment of my life, and I'm so glad I was able to see it from your perspective too! The excitement and awe is exactly what I felt, and that's what's so beautiful about an eclipse; it brings us all together in a way nothing else can. If you do become eclipse chasers, make sure to bring backup flaming arrows next time!

I totally agree! Magical is the best way to describe it! It was truly the most awestruck I’ve ever felt. It was such a beautiful, humbling experience, and I’m so glad that so many folks were able to see it 🫶🏼 Also - lol! You’re so right. We mustn’t forget the flaming arrows next time 😆

Fun fact - when painting en plein air in the snow, you can add a smidge of ethanol (such as vodka) to paint water and the water won't freeze. Handy especially if you like water brushes 😂 Also I too am in Boston area.. 100% if you're able to paint on the Greenway it's sooo nice. There's a dam on the Watertown stretch and its *chefs kiss*

That’s a great tip!! Also - your thoughts about painting on the Greenway make a lot of sense to me! That really is such a beautiful area. I don’t often make it downtown (especially in the winter lol) but I should make a point to!

@@pepostudios it's worth it! And can be tough plein air at times (if EVERYTHING is bright green... value studies can be tricky!) But it's absolutely delightful. Lots of birds and good paint spots.

Hi Sarah! I loved this video so much. It was so cool to see your eclipse experience from a tiny cabin in the snow-covered forest of Vermont. We (as you know) traveled to Ohio from Michigan to see it. I actually got a sunburn on my face during the event. It was so hot and it felt so good. As the moon appeared and the temperature dropped, the lighting changed so dramatically.... we all took notice. It was eerily quiet. It was like being on a set of a movie. The colors changed from brown, to gray, to blue and then to the SPECTAULAR bright white as the sun reappeared. It was so beautiful. Ayva, our black lab even noticed there was something special happening. She stayed between my legs or Joe's legs most of the time. I wish she could talk..... I love your painting of the experience of the woods and the eclipse. Such a great way to capture the emotion and your experience. And that cabin....woah. I loved it! I was hoping you would make snow ice cream....😄 Thanks for sharing this experience with us all! Keep creating beautiful work. We love it!! 💜 Mom

I’m so glad we got to share this experience, even though there were a few states in between us! I wouldn’t have known about the eclipse if it wasn’t for you and dad telling me in December! That’s so cool that even Ayva knew that something weird was going on. Wasn’t it just beautiful? I found it to be a surprisingly emotional experience. I really hope to be able to see another eclipse one day!

I watched it live on NASA’s coverage of the path across the US…it was amazing for me right now but I know it’s totalilty different in person !! Thanks for sharing your experience ! Love the little cabin and the seclusion to experience it ! Your forest painting was gorgeous too!!
