Art is so powerful that you can communicate with the viewers without words. Artists express their emotions and feelings in their artwork intentionally or unconsciously. The viewers might receive the exact messages that the artists have tried to send; however, the viewers sometimes might have different feelings.
In this video, I not only shared my painting techniques and tips, but also my latest life situations with you. Being vulnerable is scary, but sometimes it's a way to force yourself to face the reality. No matter what happens, please remember: Don't give up! I can relate to much of what you shared. American culture doesn’t allow for anything but POSITIVE emotions, so the full range of being human isn’t supported by the culture. I’ve had many challenges in my life and can sometimes get in dark moods. For me creating art transforms those heavy emotions. Some artists with trauma backgrounds create art that expresses their pain & rage, but I’m not one of those. I like to create from the physical beauty I find in nature. In fact if you viewed my art one might never guess I experience darkness, because my art is filled with light. Creating beauty transforms those ugly emotions. I’m guessing it’s the same for you.

The expression of your inner reflections and current experiences is vulnerable and touches the hearts of so many of us who cannot express ourselves as beautifully as you do here. What a beautiful message. ❤ And what a beautiful painting! I always get so excited to see a new notification from you pop up in Skillshare! I have yet to be able to get a painting to turn out as beautifully as yours, but that is okay. One day….. My expressive outlet is music and I find restoration in the creation of original music. Since I also teach music, I don’t use it for my own personal restoration near as much as I should. Maybe tomorrow, I can set aside time and do that.
