You can! But both are different mediums. Choose the right colours and go for it.

First of all, this is NOT simple. Why does every artist that does water color say this is simple? Its not.. Its hard. Its takes practice to understand how much water, how much pain and how fast you have to paint. Every artist HAND is different.. Your leaves will not turn out like these. I just want artists to be honest. This artist has a perfect smooth hand that moves and understands what she /he is doing.

Hi Victoria I understand what you're saying but as a beginner myself I found this quite enjoyable to paint along with the artist. I think what they mean is the simplicity of the picture gives you a good chance to practice a few things like the surface of the lemon and the shape of the leaves and the texture of the branch. But it's not a complicated picture. We need to practice these things to learn about the colour/water combination on our brushes and the artist showed very closely what technique she was using to get the coverage of the leaves and lemons. Every time we try these things we learn a bit more. Hope that helps. 😊
