Painting is a love language

Yep, been there. Sometimes you get attached to your paintings. But sometimes you finish one and feel excited to start a new one, that will get you to accomplish something better than the former. Even make you feel different things. Sometimes you see a past work that you think it was the best of the best, but you realize "nah, it isn't that good, Idk what I was thinking back then" Sometimes you get stuck in one project, kinda hate it, leave it for a while. Then after time, work again on it and suddenly turns out in something good. Then you think "Idk what I was thinking back then" 😆 Sometimes is better to let go. Let it be the way it is or just start over. (Something I frequently do, aka reuse canvas) Painting can be a feelings rollercoaster that not everyone can understand

Oh man all of that so true! That’s exactly how I feel. I think that’s why sometimes I leave the paintings on the easel so I can look at them but dissociate a bit from the process. It’s like writing an essay and coming back later with fresh eyes. I’m glad I’m not alone! Lol. I totally agree with you and that’s probably why I have so many paintings going at onc e

@@angelaspaintings good thing is that you keep working, no matter if you get stuck. The best way to get unstuck is to keep working on new paintings even if you don't finish them as fast as you wish.👍🏻

@@haroldmendoza5834 you don’t know how much I needed that specific reminder today! My mentor/professor when I was at the university always said “GET TO WORK!” like just that with perspiration comes inspiration. Talked about Chuck close too. We all just need to move paint around even if we don’t “feel” like it.
