thank you again for the insite. I must say that I have been drawling since I was a child and I have never thought to use a stick with a t-shirt to rest my hand on... I love that idea and I think it is going to become a regularly used item in my craft room.

Anytime I watch your videos I'm so inspired by your talent! Your work is so outstanding Jason! I've learned much about painting fur on the ebooks I purchased from you. I look forward to trying them out after I finish a balloons and suspended house painting I'm working on.

Thanks Jason. Since I mainly paint acrylic it is good to know what works when using oil. Again, I love the Rosemary and Co. paint brushes!

Thanks Jason! I was especially interested in the brushes you use. After watching one of your videos, I painted a lions head from a picture that I found. I was happy with the results for my first time. Painting the fur was a bit of a challenge. I am now staring a Tiger head. I plan on ordering one of your DVD's when I visit the US for my snow-bird get away in January. I love your art and thanks again for all the tips and free videos.

Jason- Thank you for sharing your techniques and provide free and paid lessons. I just found you and love your details. I went to Africa last June and have wanted to draw and paint my photos. I've done some drawings but I'm new to... well fine art so I need lessons. I just started using oils and love them over acrylics, but still struggle to get the right effects! You've helped. I've now ordered your supplies from Rosemary and co. I LOVE those brushes. Do you have a video on how best to keep and clean brushes? Also, I just ordered your ebooks. I'm painting a close up of a leopard who pulled it's kill up a tree but now regrets that the tree isn't higher and is peering up at a much taller tree. Anyway, thanks again. I'll be buying your videos soon!

Great video, pretty similar to what I do but with some minor differences. You cover many of the questions that I get asked, I should do one myself.
@wildlifeartjm6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes I get asked all the time too, even with this video's. Ha. Beginners are always looking for the magic brush etc but my supplies are very basic. I really admire your art, it has been an inspiration to me over the years 👍👏

I know you can use liquin to help oils dry faster which I might do with what I have right now but eventually ill change to alkyd oils I think.

Is the odorless thinner used to clean brushes or to thin the oil paint? If both then when do you use the walnut alkyd medium? And when do you use linseed oil? Thanks

Jason, thanks for sharing your supplies. You do great work! Question, I'm currently painting with acrylics, but thinking about switching to oils in the new year. Thinking about switching to the Griffin alkyds like you use. Wondering if you need to add a layer of walnut oil before adding another layer? Do you do that when painting in layers?

Thanks for the video! What table is that? Do you use the table and or easel? Do you have more than one painting on the go? If so how do you juggle your wet paintings?
@wildlifeartjm10 жыл бұрын
It is a draftsman type table so it goes vertical, up and down and horizontal - I paint on it :) I dont paint using the easel behind. I almost always just have 1 painting on the go at a time. I use alkyd oils which are dry by the next morning ;)

Hi Jason, I'm also a wildlife artist but I'm new to oil painting. I'm currently using Daler & Rowney Oil Paints (Simply Oils) and was wondering what medium I should use to seal the painting when it's finished? I've seen you use Walnut Alkyd on some of your videos and also Satin Varnish, but I'm unsure what to use with the particular oils that I'm using. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Can I use acrylic paint instead of oils and use an additive for slowing the drying time to learn your techniques that way?
@wildlifeartjm9 жыл бұрын
Jessica Matteson Hi yes most certainly :) the techniques work pretty well with acrylics even without a slowing agent :) www.jasonmorgan.co.uk/

Do you know if I can use any sort of fixative (ie. charcoal or pastel fixative) to prevent the graphite smudging when I put my first layer of paint on top of it? The country I live in doesn't sell W&N Artists' Fixative. Thanks!

Hi Jason, Can I buy some of your videos in CD format?
@chrisgriffith15733 жыл бұрын
Using alkyds you would never have any issues with varnishing so quickly, but if you'd linseed oil used oil or tradition oil pigments, varnishing before they cured fully with damar would be a disaster. Gamblin makes an alkyd based varnish that is ok for varnishing over oils which you don't have to wait for 6 months to use... which is nice.

Hi Jason Are there any other canvas i can use as money is a bit tight !!!
@wildlifeartjm10 жыл бұрын
absolutely, there is nothing special about the canvas I use, it's just fine weave and this can be achieved by applying a thin coating of gesso or white acrylic to an already primed canvas. Lots like a rough canvas, I just happen to prefer smooth - hope that helps Jason
@longlife195810 жыл бұрын
Thats great Jason . I just liked the idea of cutting off a bit of canvas tape it to aboard and painting. Plus i can store them better . Thank for taking the time to reply.

Hi Jason, I would like to try oil painting, and I was wondering if there are any economical brands that you would recommend for learning. Thanks!

+Susanna Barnett Check out my free supplies list here - www.jasonmorgan.co.uk/oil-painting-supplies-equipment.html it gives you links to all the supplies and best prices. I would definitely start with the winsor and newton alkyd oils as they are great quality and also cheap.

Kathleen Anderson Hi, I sell the painting unstretched, as most end up shipping internationally. But if I was going to frame one I would just take it ta a frame shop and get it stretched on canvas stretcher bars - hop ethat helps
