Painting Malenia, Blade of Miquella | Elden Ring

Hello again foul tarnished... It's a special day as I'm painting the boss that gave me one of the biggest headaches ever trying to beat. Dwelling at the base of the Haligtree, Malenia is one of my all time favourite bosses that FromSoft have come out with and I'm so excited to be painting this one today!

This page has allowed me to share my journey with learning to 3D print and paint models from my favourite games, so I wanted to share the process with all of you! From painting and collecting all the models from the Dark Souls Boardgame, the Bloodborne Boardgame and also printing dozens of Elden Ring Characters, Dark Souls Figures, Bloodborne Models, Sekiro Statues and also Fromsoftware Dioramas, I'm trying to improve my painting skills with every video and I'd love for you to join! It really depends on what I’m doing with the model. Sometimes I paint them in separate parts, other times I’ll paint it all in one so I have an easier time to plan lighting etc

1:30 also skin irritation aside, some types of putty can be *toxic* as in get into your bloodstream and get you sick. Prolonged exposure not recommended. Also, as someone who likes making "hard to balance" sculptures, small magnets embedded into the base and the point of contact help a lot.

@@darksoulsmodels No problem. I've seen both sculptors and garage kit enthusiasts replacing wires with magnets, though they do have to be glued with CA glue or equivalent. They're quite cheap on Amazon, too.

Carefully studying this video because I'm going to be painting a Malenia model soon myself (Phase 1 instead of phase 2 though) If you aren't opposed to using some flat out terrible paints, the testors brand gold is almost a 1 to 1 colour match to Malenia's golden prosthesis. Just fair warning, Testors paints are TERRIBLE!

This is not the OG scale, right? I have printed her in 230% and it looks similarly sized as the one in the video. I have painted the body to abou 90% now as well as the base, and glued together. It does not hold at all :D The whole model with base is about 500g - of which about 350 is Malenia :D How the hell did you glue her together? :D I have now drilled the leg and the base - added a peg and used greenstuff for her to 'stand on' and right now waiting for it to cure. I hope this will hold, otherwise I have no idea :'D
