Orcs and slapchop go together hand in hand. Just that grubby dirty look with the contrasts and the drybrushed grey and white just make it so fun. Did a modulorka orc hunter and just loved everything about it. Keep doing what your doing mate cause your vids are awesome and your skills getting better.

when choosing color choice for bits and bobs items you want to draw attention to (typically near the head and weapons) should be more visually striking then details farther away, for example, a nice darker purple for the leather is a good choice, but if it was on his shoulder a brighter magenta would probably be preferable

You could use something called texture paint it works pretty well by itself and you can add more texture or variety relatively fast I personally like velajio the best, I like to take a picture of the dry brushing before I start painting as it’ll show you where all the highlighted areas will go and if you want to change the angle of the highlights you’d just need to change the angle of which you dry brush on 10:46

At the beginning, ten Beast Slagga Boyz orcs will fly in and I would really like them to look at least 2% as good as yours and Warboss, which I will probably buy as well. Could you tell me what this white thing is and what is the name of the brush you used at the beginning? I'm very stressed because I'm afraid I'll stick it wrong and it will turn out terrible

that's why this technique is incredible and essential now. whether it's the slapchop or just undercoat in white, wash with nul oil in all the hollows and then brush with white again. Then, go paint with contrast. It works miracles and new followers to paint. In any case when we play orks this method is great. Honestly, speedpaint paint are awesome with wash + highlights then !

Hello! Big fan of your channel. GORGEOUS paint work in this video. Anyway, I had an idea I think you might like: I know you're a master of using sprues for all sorts of projects, so I'd love to see you try using a sprue to make a stained glass window! I think the strange patterns of the inner sprues could be filled with cut-to-size clear plastic. It could either be colored with transparent paint or you could use pre-colored transparent plastic. It might look really alien, or just really cool. I bet you'd do something amazing, since you are clearly the god-emperor of sprues. :-)

Hello thank you for the good video. I have one question abount speedpaints 2.0: (example) if i prepare on the wet palette the three colors i want to use for a creature back, and i also put a little bit of speedpaint medium on each one of them, is it possible to do a good color blending? or they don't blend at all or they dry that fast? I know that the previous version of speedpaints was really good for blending, but it was due to the "problem" of reactivation. Sorry if it may sound a stupid question, but i'm a newbie. Thank you.

Wow, this Ork looks kickass! I'm also a huge fan of Orks. My last army in WH 40k 4th edition was Orks... and many people gave me messed up or broken pieces and I would recycle them in orcish ways. My favorite was a Sister of Battle tank that a dog had chewed up! I said it in the livestream yesterday, but you have been an inspiration! I have recently become disabled due to a spinal injury, and I haven't really painted since then. However, this Slap Chop method that I've discovered via this channel looks like something I can handle! I'm Colorblind, so I sometimes check in with my wife to make sure that I have the combination of colors that I think I have! Hahaha.

If you're struggling to work out where the light would hit the model as a place to put your highlights, the trick is to apparently take a photo of the model under a spotlight before you spray it, front, back & sides, as real world proof of where the light hits. Not tried it though.

I love army painter paints but i hear there speedpaints reactivate if they get wet or painted over?
@albertogonzalez2203 Жыл бұрын
if you are using speed paints correctly.. you shouldn't have to paint over another painted surface. So I don't see why people care if it reactivates or not. that being said... the new speed paint 2.0 doesn't have the reactivation issue.

I’ve been doing a slapchop where I zenithal the mini instead of drybrushing the gray in, and then I dry brush the white. I don’t think I like my zenithal as much tho. Slapchop leaves “shadows” even in the upward facing surfaces. It’s not as realistic maybe but it looks better imo

One possible suggestion if you're not sure about colors to paint your guys, think of one color you think would look nice on them and then see what are that color's complimentary colors. There's color wheel websites where you can input a color and see what other colors go well with it. For example an ork's green skin goes well with purple and orange, apparently, so I've seen a lot of people paint their orks with purple armor and orange metal scraps (the teeth shaped bits, etc) and they look really good together, imo. Love your videos and your enthusiasm!

Don't be afraid of highlights...it'll help get rid of that muddled desaturated look that the contrast wash style paints leave and add alot more pop...just a little overbrush (the technique you did with the silver on the sword after the rust) or stippling to larger bits like the face or those tusks would make this pop beautifully...you always want you face and bare shoulders of a model to be bright...that's where the eye naturally goes to when people look at models

@acat5338 Жыл бұрын
A lot of hobbyists don’t paint an entire model with airbrush. Usually they’ll use air brush for priming, then airbrush the largest sections, then go and paint all the details with a brush. Airbrush especially shines on vehicles when there’s a lot of surface area that needs to be painted.
@KickapooNinja Жыл бұрын

Haha, I love your vids, I watch all of them... but your titles crack me up. They're like the dumb Spongebob meme with random capitalization ;) But, anyway, I really dig your dry texture palette for sure! There's also the trend of drybrushing with a damp sponge nearby to dip on once in awhile so it's not fully "dry"? I haven't tried that, but feel like I should.
