Elysia English (channel by the same name) recently had trouble with tub-and-tile paint running. She was advised to use marine paint. She did, and her tub now looks gorgeous, like a brand-new tub. It also has a sheen to it that the tub-and-tile paint did not give it. So, if you have more peeling, you might want to give your tub a thorough sanding and then apply marine paint.

It is so encouraging that they are finding new ways to help Jim. That is wonderful to hear, and helps to know how to pray specifically for him. @@lisamcrae1471 I was able to fix that one spot and there have been no other incidents. The paint has held up well with no problems, and it still looks great. I think I used Krud Kutter to clean the tub before I painted it. Scrubbed is really well and rinsed, rinsed and rinsed until I was sure I got all the cleaner rinsed off. Then dried it with old dish towels. The flour sack type dish towels that are 100% cotton. You can always Google "lint free cloths" for examples of what to use.

Oh my, I really hope you were able to resolve the issue of the bubble and that your tub didn’t bubble up anymore. It looks beautiful for sure. I remember I painted the interior of an old claw foot tub many years ago with a tub paint. I remember the smell was strong. However, it turned out great & I never had an issue with it bubbling. Good thing cause I had three kiddos who used it daily, and trust me if it had little bubbles that formed those little kids would have pushed them and then peeled them. 😂 so hope yours is fixed and you are able to enjoy a nice warm soak. As I’ve been redoing my kitchen I heard you could wrap your brushes and rollers and put them in the fridge to keep them moist. I tried it and it does work! I’ve often thought of doing this, but I was concerned this would happen. I have a caste iron tub so have many options. My facilities are all blue. Yucky, but I’m not redoing them. Your tub does look nice. I hope it stays that way.

The paint on my tub is holding up fine, and for me was worth the money. If you use the Dwil paint, be sure you follow the instructions exactly.

Most likely it will continue to peel with use. I painted mine but used a different paint and it’s peeled like crazy.

I just painted my tub with this paint. I was looking here to see how many coats people usually use. I have enough paint for 3 on the tub (I did the tile too) but wasn’t sure if it would be too thick. How did you resolve the peeled spot?

I lightly sanded the spot with the sandpaper that came with the kit, just to make sure it was smooth around the edges and blended in with the existing paint. Then I touched up the spot with leftover Dwil paint. I gave it a light coat, let it dry, and then gave it another light coat to make sure it was covered. I let it dry the full 7 days before using the tub. I can't even see where the peeled spot was, and it's holding up fine. I haven't had any other problems with the tub. Only that one.

Nancy, I had to write to you ti ask you for healing prayers for John James. He has been fighting a lung infection for several days and today he had to be admitted to the hospital. He has bee put on iv antibiotics and oxygen He is four and he is autistic. He is good about taking his breathing treatments but he doesn't want the mask all the time.But if he takes it off his oxygen levels plummet. Please lift him and his parents in your prayers They.are so worried and exhauated Wencovet your prayers. You are a women of God and we are m grateful😢that you would pray on our behalf❤😊🙏
