I usually don't paint my embroidery work but I've been painting a lot lately so I wanted to bring it into this moth template and create a mixed media embroidery piece.
Acrylics can add some rich colors and it's a lot easier to control than watercolor! Paint on your colors, let it dry, then add your favorite stitches. That's it!
If you've never painted on fabric before, I always recommend first practicing on scrap fabric that is similar to what you'll be using for your mixed media project.
If you like the moth design and want to explore your creative side, you can find it in my Spoonflower shop. The design is perfect for a 6 or 7 inch hoop so select Petal signature cotton, swatch size.
