Tom has inspired me to cut the rust out my 02 suburban and make some patch panels just got them welded in and welds ground off just added some body filler and waiting for it to dry but i did way better than i thought i would only watched KZbin video's on welding sheet metal because this was my first time welding sheet metal as well but surprisingly didnt warp the metal 🙏 or at least not enough for me to care about 😂 shes just a work truck but i was tired of big rust holes in my quater pannels

Another thing to consider would be filling those dead spaces you covered with marine pour foam. That stuff is part sealer, bonder, insulation/deadening, and flotation/strengthening filler. Just be sure to run a couple conduit tubes or whatever through it beforehand so you can get wires and lines/hoses and whatnot where you need them.
