Thank you so much for showing us how to do an autumn scene in oils-far different than acrylics. I plan on doing this one! I’ve only been painting for a few years and you have taught me a lot. Your encouragement means the world to me, as I still struggle with the fear of the canvas. I feel like I’m in your studio right next to you! ❤

Wish it was as easy as this to sort my house out with just a dab here a streak there and a little white with a nice purplish shading. You sicken me with dab,dab,dab,swish,swish,swish and alittle just a little ... and that's it a feckin painting, brilliant! I just wish I had bought your paintings years ago would been better than my money sitting in a bank.

Hi Stephen, I am 69 yrs old and have recently taken up learning to paint…I had a foray into watercolour first, then Acrylics, which are ok but dry too fast…I now venture into an affair with oil’s, which I love ….the diversity of uses, plus the added bonus that I can spend a couple of days and still be able to work the paint…brill !!! Anyway…I recently (2 wks) discovered your youtube channel…and I have to say, without creeping, that of all the tutorials that I have watched over the last year or so, only yourself and a New Zealand artist ‘Sam Earp´ impress me with your teaching style….not only do you tell me what you are doing, but why, and what colour mixes you use, also with explanation of reason why….ie: where sand meets water in ‘Painting a beach’ to prevent it going green… The main important thing that I have learned from you, is that I don’t need to reproduce ..but to give a version that is mine. Thank you in advance of future tutorials, which I look forward to.. John James

Lovely painting. I was thinking of trying this but use a forest floor instead of water because I am afraid to try the reflections.

just discovered you! thank you for tutorials. when you say wet canvas with turp. can this be substituted with odorless mineral spirits ?
@EasyOilPainting Жыл бұрын
Hello Crista. Yes can use spirits also..perhaps you could add a little linseed oil into it also..that will help the paint flow even better
