Tremendous technique. I do not do model railroads, but miniature villages. I am anxious to try this technique. Thank you for your instruction and your talent.

Thank you so much for this! I ended up sponging my mountains because they're a lot smaller than yours, but the color layering was a huge help. I'm really happy with my results.

Great video thank you I'm new to all this do you dilute the paint with water if so what is the ratio? Thank you
@RMS554 жыл бұрын
Hi James, The water ratio is trial and error. The paint has to be thin enough to spray from a hand spray bottle.

Okay great thank you so much for the response cheers and stay healthy

Great Job! For the last Application. Some Black lightly watered down spots from the top using a foam brush would really make the detail come out. Just my opinion but use that technique all the time. Awesome Work. Nice Job !!!

***** Thanks for your comment. The layout I was painting was very large and the spray method helped to cover a large area fast.

Hello! This is truly a fabulous instructional video!! We tried your technique on our styrofoam Halloween display and it turned out pretty darn good. I have one question though. Could you tell me what your paint to water ratio is for your spray bottle? I think I made mine to thin. Thanks a million!! Della

brilliant, before even looking on youtube, just used painted with greyish to black, then drybrush white highlights. spray various colours way to go :-). creating a 3d background for fish tank. coat then in epoxy resin...

Thanks for the technique, how much paint to water do you use? And also would the acrylic paint from the little artist type tubes be ok?
@aelectriciansebastian42368 жыл бұрын
Great. Can you use the same technique to color real rock to change it's color?
@RMS558 жыл бұрын
Hi Sebastian, For 'real' rocks I don't think the wash technique will work, but why don't you try it and see for yourself.

Hi mate. This looks really good. How did you get the rock face looking so rocky. Is it rock moulds? Or just contouring the plaster cloth

Very nice job. What type/brand of paint? Thinned with water? Alcohol? What ratio? Where did you get those spray bottles?
@FontediCalore8 жыл бұрын
This is what I understood he uses. Acrylic paint, he said it in the title. Use spray cans and it's the same paint. You can also buy it in tins from paint shops and these sprayers I think you buy them in the diy store. You thin acrylic paint with thinners, not with water. But I did see that they have water based paints and I guess those are better in that you can then rinse everything with water and you won't clog the nozzles. And I have no clue if it is acrylic, I used to spray bikes and cars and that's all I know. If you use spray cans you can squirt instead of spraying and let droplets go onto a flat surface (I used it on bike fue tanks) to make the marble effect, I bet it works on fake rocks. For that effect you have a grey base and then drops of white and drops of black.
