In the last photo, (with the green foreground and metal clad building), I'd attempt to make the left edge of the dark opening the focal point. I'd position the vertical edge more away from the center of the painting and change the rusty tin to non-rusty tin at this location to increase the contrast. Add the sunlit grass in a pattern to cause your eye to be directed to the focal area.
