Painting supplies & tips for Gouache and Oil painting:
Back in September, we went to the Richmond Waterfront in London, England for some more Plein Air painting! This time, Nate brought his Gouache supplies and I brought my oil paints just to switch it up.
We took this opportunity to break down the general gear and supplies both mediums require, and some of the differences between the two that we’ve learned through our painting adventures. One difference is definitely the sheer weight of oil supplies vs. gouache when traveling by foot. Something to consider if hiking long distances! We also share some tool techniques and tips for both oil paint and gouache, and some of the things we think about when out on the field. There are huge advantages to both mediums and definitely worth exploring if you have the time. We hope you enjoy!
