if you think the mushrooms are colorful as-is, imagine how it looks to a goblin already tripping balls on the mushrooms he just ate.

Ooooo something completely different. I like it. This one made me smile with delight. I think a base would really add some depth that's missing with it being alone. It does need roots and dirt. So looking forward to you having noting better to do.

Loonshrines are canonically built with loonrock from the Bad Moon, so it should be naturally yellow.

The green is a better choice than red, since Morrslieb is the second moon, and its green (made of warpstone). So it works very well as the second moon. :D

Is the moon actually rock? It appears to be constructed, with all those braces and supports. Sure, it has fungus growing on it now, but I'm not convinced it is supposed to be a carved shrine. Other than that, it's truly gobbo ridiculous.
@ThePaintingClinic5 жыл бұрын
I didn't read the fluff, but the studio paint job is gray rock. The braces are holding together cracked areas.
@Outerwebs3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the shrines are carved from loonstone meteorites.

I painted one of these for a commission recently and I agree on the mushrooms. They are annoying to paint and the model could do with 25-50% fewer of them. They sort of ruin the model for me.

Wow. I don't play with miniatures so I don't know anything about this moonshaped rock. But....it's the ugliest thing I saw in the last years! The art department of Age of Sigmar is probably laughing a lot thinking to all the money they will do selling this "thing". You are great as always but this time not even you can save this thing. I'm gonna google it to see what minuatures players think of it...maybe it's just me :P
@sonicimperium5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it don't get much dumber than this thing.
@mattmatt13025 жыл бұрын
Thats a problem people have been noticing in recent Game's Workshop's designs, their stuff is too busy in the detail department to the point is really discouraging to miniature painters to get into the game. A giant angry moon looking rock is already a weird and cool enough concept but then they add a ton of mushrooms, the second moon, thorns, cages, skulls, chains, metal plates, barnacles... I know half the fun in miniature wargaming is painting and making the minis look unique but when that process could take you days to complete a single piece of scenery detail then that part of the hobby starts to feel more like a chore, also not everyone has a good grasp about the concept of color theory so if someone takes the time to paint a giant "miniature" but ends up with something that looks even busier since there no color harmony they would get even more frustrated. Is just my opinion of course but I just dont like these models either.
@JulioNicoletti4 жыл бұрын
The base design is so nice but I agree the add-ons are very annoying and over the top. I can imagine an art director saying to the designer to just keep adding more stuff on top
