Agree with the approach. Paint for fun and we'll tag along.

These videos in watching you paint are really very helpful. The stroke, mix of paints, layers, and rhythm are all things to learn from. Please keep recording all you can

Also I did explicitly search for gnome painting vids and got excited that I had seen you uploaded one, and recently at that.

enjoyed the format as much as more "tutorial" styles and had a good chuckle when your cat showed it's complete indifference to what you were working on.

Love the new/old style of videos. There's a definite difference and your enjoyment shows through, making for an enjoyable video that makes me feel like I'm going on the journey with you, rather than being instructed. Nice work and I look forward to more.

Faust, idk if you read comments on old vids, but: I'm a new painter (just painted my second model last night) and I've been watching a lot of videos that initially gave me the desire to paint and then for tutorials. I've seen this technique done a ton of times (layering and glazing) but this is the first time it's really clicked. Maybe it's because I have hands on painting experience now, but while watching this video I saw, in my mind, all the mistakes I made last night with layering skin tone and why my highlights and shading felt off. Also, the glazing tech breakdown was easy to understand, and I feel I will be able to add this to my tool belt as well. edit: Thinking on it more, I think the way you showed the layout of your paint pallet was very helpful for understanding the layering process and how to blend. Seeing how thin you got your paints and the blended gradient laid out was very useful for me as an amateur. That specifically made it click for me, I think. Excellent video and a well-earned sub here from a first-time viewer.

Gonna watch your vids anyway, cause I like the style (of painting and presentation). Also you're a great source for diverse subjects. There is way too much GW-painting out there. I prefere playing games like Frostgrave or historicals.

Good for you deciding to just do what's fun! I think an important piece thats lost in translation between creators and viewers for painting videos is that nobody is perfect, and being willing to include any mostakes, fixes, and potentially undesired results will really go far in being more relatable to new and budding painters alike. Not much is less relatable than watching a hyper edited uber-professional paintjob executed flawlessly, because there's a lot of intangible factors not shown that can really put a damper on someone's motivation when they are unsuccessful in replicating that super slick Space Marine. Whether you intended to or not, thanks for fighting imposter syndrome in the community, it's a huge thing in new painters I've noticed 🙏

I enjoy your videos regardless of what style they're in, so I'm just happy to see you post in general. Though I'm thinking about getting back into Warmachine with MK IV, most all my painting is for fun and I always learn something new from watching your videos in general. If ever I did KZbin, it would be for fun as well. Well done!

Congrats on the job! I'm glad you're painting for fun again. It's always terrible when a hobby begins to feel like a chore. I love the new format. Your tutorials are a big help, but it's also really cool to see mistakes and redirections done in "real time."

Admittedly your tutorials (mostly your how to layer paint) where kinda key for me way back then as they where what cause things to click for me when i first got into the hobby, but what has keep me watching and keeps me watching is less the tutorials and more the idk bob ross vibe where im watching more to just watch someone painting who enjoys painting and enjoying the journey and seeing it come together

It's great to see you posting videos again, and I really like your new plan! Personally, I like seeing a variety of different subjects posted, not just the miniatures that are "hot" and trending. Like any model builder/miniature painter, I find myself painting a plethora of different subject matters--figures, vehicles, etc. Sometimes it's fantasy, sci-fi, old west, undead, mutants, animals, dinosaurs, monsters--you name it. It's your techniques that draw me to your videos, not your choice of miniatures, so I like that you're just going to be putting up more random things! I'm looking forward to seeing more videos in the near-future!

Congratulation on the new job and I am so long following your channel (with my other YT account) that I didn't noticed this was "new old style". I 'member the homepage! From waybackwhen. I love your « less » professional video!!!! It’s fun to see you paint what you like instead of what would get maybe more views. I’m not into Warhammer and it’s nice to see something else. I think you are very good and I always learn something from you. Good luck with your new job. By the way, I’ve always been curious about your wet palette. What do you use?!!!
