I think it looks beautiful. I love the woman watching over the two warriors. However, I also think that because the hands anchor the characters so centrally the piece looks complete (if the background was to be painted), which will make it difficult for the piece to be continued by future artists as intended. I’m sure Greg will figure out something amazing to do though. I wish you had’ve painted over the orange wash where you were painting those wispy edges and that bird on the right - that will be quite difficult to paint around (as opposed to needing to be completely covered up) without a solid background. Beautiful job, but the next artists certainly have an added challenge.

Feels like people are forgetting the point of this collab for some needless drama. The point is to have a finished piece that is cohesive despite having multiple artists working on it, which has been brilliantly achieved. The canvas already started with not much space after Ten Hun's character so it only made sense that after a couple artists, things might start to clash visually. What matters at the end of the day is that everyone's contribution is there, even if it needed a bit of tweaking or it was painted over to bring the whole thing together. That was the point of this project and artists who participated should all be prepared for this and be a good sport about it, and they ALL have been, including Jess who said she was totally okay with the tweaks James made on her hands. So if all parties are okay with it, why all the unnecessary drama? Why tarnishing this amazing collab with needless negativity? Every artist has the right to add their creative touch and contribute to the piece to produce something not only stunning, but visually cohesive otherwise there's no point in just slapping different objects/characters/colors in different styles and calling it a day.

OK - I am going to get a lot of hate for this. First, I LOVE your channel it is amazing, beautiful, and inspirational. As an artist myself, I can not wait for each new video. What you did here to the collective painting. . . . the top of the painting with the breathtaking face you created is stunning. But . . . . OMG those huge hands take away from all the previous artists' work. They are all that your eye sees. They minimize the entire story of the painting. They are not even up to your incredibly detailed artwork. I do hope the next artist rescues the painting by drawing within the hands and makes them less of a domination over the painting. It was to be a "small" area for each artist, after all.

I was wondering about how much space Jess took up and how powerful her picture is. However remember the piece started powerful and bold. I think that, when the whole space is filled, balance will be achieved. The next artist seems as strong and bold. This is a strong bold piece so I assume it will harmonize and balance out. You dk have a point, but it early stages of the piece and everything else is bold enough and centered in the middle. Trust the process, I hope we will all be pleasantly surprised. I am wondering about the space left over for others. So valid point. I disagree though that it needs to be toned down until the end if it is still too focal. Also we are getting a video view, maybe in real life it is actually not as punchy. Just to keep this in mind. I think we are scared to comment constructive criticism, but it is a valid comment, and I think it is respectfully made. So thank you for being brave enough to share.

It's interesting that the "bigger" artists take up more space on the canvas so fewer can participate, while on the other canvas with the "smaller" artists there is still a ton of room for many more to share their art with others.
@pizzagurl25552 жыл бұрын
I’m glad I’m not the only one to notice this!! I love watching all the canvases go on their journeys to new artists but it kind of bugs me how big the “bigger” artists art work is! I know they want to create something great but I feel like they shouldn’t take up so much space so that others can get on.
@nikkidelong71832 жыл бұрын
I know. I love it - Don’t get me wrong! But the hands would have been enough. I feel like two spots were taken. The edges are so delicate that it will be hard for the next artist to keep its integrity. And, so much of the beautiful fox coat was covered. BUT, these are just my feelings. I still love it and accept that this is part of letting each artist do their thing. There is a beautiful sense of letting go that we all have with this project.
@artbyalexanne2 жыл бұрын
The canvas for the "bigger" artist is a smaller canvas then the one for the smaller artist. Also it's 100% ten hundred's fault haha he said he made this artwork bigger then he intended it too. It's normal for the people who come after to match the size of their predecedors artwork. But I agree that it's a little less fun to watch (even if the artwork is goergous) because there will be less people who can add on to it.
@tj_offroad2 жыл бұрын
@@nikkidelong7183 Totally agree, she took up waaaay too much canvas and the hands were a good element by themselves, the girl, while pretty was superfluous.

I think it could easily stand as a fully formed, completed piece at this point. I mean, i'd buy that. The strength and energy of the hands lifting and creating the three figures, showing the same root, base and birth of creativity and then each of the amazing figures showing how different and varied the product of that creativity can be. Wow. I love it so much. I was really, really anxious about the next person screwing up the balance. but then you picked Greg Simkins! His work, his world building is so vibrant and imaginative and HUGE that i think it could work. I don't know if anyone else COULD be next for this piece besides him. Can't wait!

I don't know how else to put this, but your contribution gave this collab piece a beating heart. The hands bursting with creativity is such a beautiful and symbolic homage to all artists who work with their hands. What would be a better place to show that than on a big collaboration such as this?

This is such wonderful video concept 💖. I was so excited when I realized you next in line for this huge KZbin art collab. I absolutely love the painting you made. It has such a beautiful back story on how it was created. I can really overthink everything when it comes to art and I get really frustrated, but I've learned to embrace the imperfections, thanks to you. Thank you jess for being so inspiring 🎨

Hey Jess! Kudos from Germany! When Kiptoe was finished with his part I wondered how one can top that work... enter Jess Karp blowing it out of the park! Your magic gave it a whole new vibe! And you overlap in such a thoughtful way that it completes the painting in a way that nobody imagined to be possible! Thanks for being in this world! BTW: Can´t wait what Greg makes of it!

Wow Jess! Amazing job on the painting, and the video! I'm new to your channel because of the painting, I check every day for new updates to the paintings, looking to catch some inspiration and encouraging energy that I can bring into my day, as life has been especially hard this year, and this video really did the trick! I didn't know Ten Hundred before the first painting showed up at Nerdforge, and I have enjoyed the energy that he brings to the community. Now this season getting to know Kiptoe and see the works they did together and then add that energy to this painting, and now you! OMG, I have tears in my eyes and tingles down my spine, which I wasn't expecting. Thank you for the great start to my day, I needed it. Very inspiring, keep up the great work!

I just about cried watching this. I LOVE the way you created this cohesive and informative element to the art that was already there. I'm having a blast imagining stories to go along with it. The way your incorporated more feminine power into the piece while also being fearless about staking your claim on the area of canvas you worked on is incredibly inspiring and yeah I'm really speechless. Excellent work!!

100% agree, but how many other artists are even supposed to be on it - the way the hands frame the already finished drawings makes this look finished and really leaves no room for anything else there, too. She just seems selfish with this.

I agree. It looks great, but I wish she considered the rest of the artists like everyone else does.
@charmainesmith56232 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything these comments have said. It's like she's gone look at me iv done 2 different parts. She should of done the hands or the other part. Will mean less people doing it. Although her art is out if this world and iv now fount a new artist to watch. The very 1st time it was done the artist made there pieces so that they were nit greedy. The 2 ine for the small artist as been ruined by the 4th person and got wores with each artist after that. But that's only my view. I will get lots of hate comments but if we were all the same we'd very sheep. LOVE the very 1st 1 from season 1

To me, the best (and worst) thing about this is that she created an overarching narrative and trajectory for the piece, because all future artist can (will have to) abide by the conceptual frame of character creations emerging from these (absolutely gorgeous, ethereal, wax-molding, void-forging) hands.

The hands were al readey that big then you take a bit on the right side also and then the girl also on top , you took for me to much space in all direction that it is for me an overkill also because you painted also on top it think that is to much in everything
