Painting the Engine Block - Datsun 240z

Doing great till the top coat arrived. Maybe you aren't going for an original colour match, but the block was a similar colour to the masking tape. Lighter in fact, an original blue colour oil filter will get you a match. I worked on the 240/260/280 from time to time as an apprentice. Love them to bits and would love to own one. But at my age now, I'm in bits and with hips wearing out difficult to get in & out of something like a Z car. I have just bought the re-tooled Tamiya 1/12 th scale model of the 240Z. Which is why I found your channel. Trying to jog the memory on colours etc. Going to keep an eye on the progress. Keep the Z Car's alive.

What's the deal with "Coffee Filters"? Are you using those because they are almost completely lint free?

Yes! They leave next to no lint and are relatively cheap and plentiful.
