I did mine two years ago. Took me 9 hours to do one side! I did the other side the next day....took the same amount of time. I just had some surface rust, that's what took the most time. Looks way better than it did before. 😊

Absolutely not a waste of time as it’ll help prevent rust plus makes it look cleaner. It also shows you give a crap and took your time making it look that much better

I've done 2 frames with the Eastwood paint with a brush. One was a 1970 C-10, so I pulled the bed off at least. 2nd was my 94 Blazer with everything in place. But I had a 4 post lift to work from, so it wasn't too bad. You do what you have to do to get stuff done.

Man, I'd love to have a lift. That would have made this job sooo much easier. How did that Eastwood paint hold up?

Gotta do what you gotta do! I recently rattle can blacked my wheel wells, inner fenders and front suspension with leftover black engine paint for now just because they looked embarrassing behind my milled Alcoa 22s. I still need to do the frame rails, at least the visible outside part! If you are going. A 5/7. Static you will tuck the upper edge of the tires slightly in the rear, and there is some clearance for that. but if you are going air you will probably need a chassis cab rear or extended fenders. In the front there isn’t a lot of tire to fender clearance, mine have effectively self rolled the Denali fenders over bumps but no issue with turning radius. It’s still only about as tight as the Nimitz. And there isn’t a lot of clearance to top of the inner fenders/ wheel wells. The occasional pot hole or whoopty-whoop means the bottoms of the inner fenders hit the tires enough to make terrible Noises and take the paint off. Just be aware of it and try not to bottom out on the tires! Best of luck and enjoying following along.

I feel the same! This one will get a static belltech drop kit and I believe it's a 6/8 so it will be super low. We'll have to see how everything fits once we get it on the ground. Thanks for following a long!

Looks wayyy better. I hate rusted frames lol. I did all my trucks with POR15 and a paint brush. Less mess imo but yours came out amazing.

I thought about using POR15 on this one. That’s some good stuff!

I love your unedited content. I’m pretty sure we are brothers, because I do the same crap all the time lol.

Oh this is cool. May be stealing the pace truck idea with mine. I've got a 1994 (wrong year I know.... lol) but I also have a 1979 Mustang Pacecar. Would be pretty cool visually towing a Pacecar with a Pace Truck

Where did you get that cluster?
@Blitz0065 Жыл бұрын
Definitely would've TRIED with the bed off but at least you're doing it. Little by little, however you can get it done, right?
@motortopiaondemand Жыл бұрын
Believe me I thought about it but I didn't for 2 reasons. 1) The city I live in doesn't allow you to rebuild vehicles in the driveway so I have had to hide it. 2) this bed is so big I was afraid of dropping it!
@jasonhouk7939 Жыл бұрын
I wouldve prolly removed the bed if at all possible. Im going to be doing something very similar on my 91 extended cab soon. Its not a frame off but id like to detail up the chassis some and make look nicer for sure
