That freehand is insane. If I hadn’t seen you do it, I wouldn’t think it was a freehand at all.

"The most High Elf looking High Elf of all the High Elves!" - he sure is that. Riding a great big horse with the horse helmet and double horse on the back of his chair thingy - what a guy! Love what you've done here, really interesting on the white. I was really happy with my own dry-brushed wings on Magnus but this is next level. Sometimes it's the right technique for the job!

Oh dayum! That white recipe is a winner, looks so great on that flappy horsey. Seriously great work this time Deetz (is that the right spelling? I ne'er know) and that freehand shield deserves a stan'ing ovation. Your army of Helves is getting more and more beautiful every model. Bravo good sir.

Fantastic work, as always. The 4-5. edition high elves' style is so memorable, even after 25 years it's still the definit colorscheme for any kind of good elves in my head. :) Also, I know it's really not the point... but I literally loved these Warhammer boxes with the polystyrene inside at 1:24... :D

Thanks for the detailed instructions on the wings, I've never painted them and I have several Pegasus knights to do. I feel your pain on the metal mini's as I've just had to pin, glue, and prime several metal horses from Sally 4th mini's. Frustrating but rewarding work.

Beautiful work. White is my bugbear as well, I need to see if I can replicate your method! The freehand on the shield is perfect, you clearly have steadier hands than me! I would say that, assembly aside, wings in GW models were generally better in metal. I’ve done the last metal Empire Griffin, and the texture allows for a really convincing look. A lot of the more modern plastics seem to have forgotten that and the feathers seem more like leaves.

Have you tried a hardware store epoxy putty? Something like Selleys Kneadit, or Gorilla epoxy putty is a reasonable substitute for green stuff (although more like Milliput). I'd recommend playing with them away from a mini to see if you like them, but I think they work well in a pinch. (They do have a strange smell though - not toxic afaik, but not pleasant.)

Awesome job! Personally I am not a huge fan of the old-school miniatures myself, but I get why a lot of people are drawn to them, especially "older" people who might've had a lot of these minis back when they were younger. And although the old-school style of painting is a lot "simpler" than today's modern style (like the new GW box-art etc) I really think you've come a long way in your painting and it's awesome to see!! Yes, there are more content on tips'n tricks and "how to paint" videos than ever before so it's a lot easier to get into the whole painting part of the hobby than it was back in the day, but even so I really think you have excelled very fast! I'm not sure whether you paint a lot of stuff outside the stuff you paint specifically for the channel, but the way you place the highlights, your understanding of how to layer it is really impressive! And although I'm a person who don't often comment on videos etc I've seen ALL the videos you've released and I'm always eager to see your new releases!! Keep up the great work and well done on your progression so far!! Love from Norway!
