Ive been in the Hobbies for some time , I like your paint style and presentation you bring with each episode. I like that you reinforce the techniques are universal, and it doesn't matter what the paint subject is. 👍

As I'm fond of pointing out, past a point, paint is paint! Techniques aren't specific to any single miniature, no matter what might be written on a pot. ;D

K47 is my favourite game at the moment. Decided to give it a go using my existing Bolt Action Germans with some Schreckwulfen thrown into the mix, and here I am now with multiple big bloody armies of exclusively K47 units. Think it's a bit of a no brainer for existing Bolt Action players to give it a go with such a low barrier for entry. And of course, Americans are one of the forces I haven't touched yet, so you had to post a video showing off how cool their walkers are!
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
The walkers are probably one of my favourite things about the setting, and I really love the idea of continued lend lease gear across the Allies. K47's one of those games that's so easy to get started with if you're already playing Bolt Action, and I have to admit I like the system a little better - especially when you include the officer tweaks and bonuses from later supplements.

It's a pretty conscious choice! Painting is all about finding what works for you, and how you actually enjoy working on your miniatures. How I paint them might not work for you, or you might adapt some of the techniques for your own use. A little tweaking is all it takes. :D

Thanks & looks great! Between Cast Dice podcast/Warlord Games podcast and this channel I'm pretty much hooked on getting into Bolt Action/conflict. Not happy though on hearing about the resin issues, for the warping would it be easier to carefully cut the pieces smaller then rebuild it?

Eventually, yeah. I'd like to do a few videos on the subject since it's such a neat range of miniatures, though it does mean having to circle back around to feldgrau and olive drab all the time. 😅
@sagacity10713 жыл бұрын
Had a look at thier website. Gives me serious captain America: first avenger vibes! What do you need to get started in 47?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
There's nothing that'd stop you from painting up a German force as Red Skull's Hydra troops, I suppose! 😂 K47 doesn't have army-specific books quite like Bolt Action does, so the core rulebook has the rules and army lists for each nation. There's two supplements which add a bunch of additional units and some neat additional rules (kinda making the game Bolt Action 2.5) which I'd recommend, but aren't strictly necessary to start. For miniatures, the K47 starter boxes aren't amazing, unfortunately. I'd suggest a box of plastic infantry for whatever army you're keen in, then something weird like armoured infantry or werewolves or a walker. One of the Bolt Action starter armies plus a 'weird thing' will give you a ton of options with all your core infantry and support choices covered!
@sagacity10713 жыл бұрын
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio so are the "normal" bolt action units compatable? Hail hydra!
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
Yep. The core of most armies are still things like plastic US infantry or German grenadiers, so if you've got a Bolt Action army you can just add a walker and be laughing. For K47, basically anything that's classed as 'late war' for Bolt Action will fit for the game set in the near future of the weird war.

Great stuff, I'll be taking a few of these techniques. How did someone dislike this? Were they looking for videos about painting watercolours of their grizzly bear mates?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
Anything that's up on KZbin for long enough will almost always end up with a couple of dislikes. I've no idea what motivates them most of the time, but it's just the way of things.

@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
The Paragon program in K47 is pretty much directly lifted from the super soldier Captain America stuff, and some of the crazier German kit would fit in fairly easily as Red Skull's troops... Hmm!
