I watched this video before my very first jump (I went straight to AFF 1, no tandem!) in November. It inspired me and gave me the confidence to make the first jump. I'm now about to make my 100th jump this weekend and this video still continues to inspire me to push my limits and to keep striving to improve. Thank you for the inspiration that helped me find my passion, blue skies!

+Peter Chau Hey Peter, thanks for the compliment. In the skydiving world, I'm actually pretty average skill-wise, but surround yourself with good, fun skydivers, and you'll definitely see some awesome things in the sky. Just make sure you develop a good foundation in skydiving safety once you get into it, so you can participate in the sport for years to come. Hope to see you in the sky one day as well! Take care!

The girl seems to be holding some sort of chain at 1:54. When the other guy comes up at 1:56 to grab your hands, you two drop it. is there any meaning behind that chain? a ritual? Looking forward for "why I skydive part 2 HD" :) Edit: just realized the girl was holding the chain to trigger the smoke flare and she pulled it before the other guy grabbed her hand. Still looking forward for "why I skydive part 2 HD"

@Dexter-zl1me9 жыл бұрын
+Christian Tassler The smoke grenades are attached to our ankles using brackets, so we tied cords around the grenade pins so we could ignite the grenades as we left the plane without bending down. He's just throwing that cord away.

Hey Dexter, which kind of smoke grenades are you using for this jump? Can you give me some recommendations?
@Dexter-zl1me9 жыл бұрын
+skymawi We used the Enola Gaye EG18 smoke grenades and some military grade smoke grenades on these jumps. Military grade smoke is really thick and really showed up well on video, the Enola Gaye grenades required two to be worn because their smoke output was a lot thinner in comparison. The Enola Gaye grenades are a lot more forgiving to your gear though.

Awesome video! I can't wait to get into freeflying. It always looks like so much fun. If I could ask, how much experience do you think a skydiver should have before looking for freefly coaching?
@Dexter-zl1me9 жыл бұрын
+Patrick Arocha Make sure you are pretty good at belly, then follow the usual progress: backfly, sitfly then head down. It takes a little longer, but you'll be a much stronger flyer. Also, if you can, just learn this all in the windtunnel if possible. Learning in the sky was wasteful for me because I never really progressed up there, but the windtunnel did wonders for me and prevented bad habits from forming.
@aguynamedme77609 жыл бұрын
+Dexter Marcelino Sounds good! I'm still working those belly skills, but I'm planning on going in that direction. Right now, I'm really starting to get a grip on flying my legs even off the hill. Either way, thanks for the response. Hope I get to fly with you one day.

ive done a duojump before, but im too afraid to jump alone, i do want to. any advice?
@Dexter-zl1me9 жыл бұрын
+Jonas De Roover (JonasDR) You can probably do an AFF program that starts out with tandem progression the first few jumps. That way you can work up to jumping alone and won't feel overwhelmed by all the things you will need to keep in mind as you learn to skydive safely. Definitely ask your question to the dropzones in your area to see if they can accomodate your concern.

+ahemhimynameis My dropzone was only open to us on the weekends, so it was more like 10 to 11 per day on Sat/Sun during the summer. In the winter, it was a lot less per jump day.
