This painting session is about painting water, sky, clouds and boats, on location, 'en plein air'. Of course, 10 minutes can only show an impression, the actual painting time would be 3 to 4 hours. I rather avoid YT's ads so I am now trying to keep it within the 10 minutes. Soon I'll have a snow-painting episode!

I find it interesting that you put in a yellow/orange underpainting because I would think that your sky, with its heavy impasto, would be totally opaque. It's all part of the process, I guess. Another fabulous painting -- thank you!

This is lovely Rose! What is this beautiful location and where is it? The colors... oh my goodness! How do you know a painting has "failed"? (Referring to Your comment about the two failed previous paintings)

Thanks Mel! This is Zeeland/holland, 'failed' is always some form (elements) of imbalance, creating non-harmonic 😃

Beautiful strong colors! Thank you for sharing, I am learning a lot from you. I have noticed the end result is always darker when the palette and canvas is exposed to the sun.

Yes, that's right, so you can play with mixing a tad lighter, and to keep colors vibrant, omit blacks. Thanks!
