I've recently picked up a set of the liquid pigments- they are fabulous. I've always been very weary of enamel/oil based washes etc because of their permenance and the fear or ruining a finish. These things are brilliant. Really encouraging me to try new techniques. Still a long way to go in terms of my finishing and weathering but a lot happier for sure. ~Love the longer duration videos too. Keep them coming.

So, I take it in the end all was sealed with a matt varnish...?
@scalewarmachines5 жыл бұрын
Not in this case as it would have ruined the subtle moisture effects. Lifecolors are very matt so it's not so necessary.

That's really impressive! For the oil effect you used with the techcrom... have you tried Johnsons Klear with a black wash? I've used that to great effect!

Paint preshading looks to have worked as intended, my understanding is it should not be “seem”, rather just add depth. (For lack of better word)

The rustiest Panther I ever saw. The TC would have been severely disciplined if that was a real condition. Surely mud colours on the wheels and tracks would have been a more realistic choice? Just a thought.
@scalewarmachines5 жыл бұрын
It's a work of fiction, a paper panzer so normal rules don't apply! Didn't want it to look too muddy, like an old test bed vehicle at some proving ground (like you might see at Aberdeen or Bovington in storage).
@dobiem15 жыл бұрын
@@scalewarmachines - Fair enough. I was not sure about the context for your model. Figured you would be putting it in a diorama or something perhaps :) Interesting techniques with the painting though. Appreciate the tips and thank you.

Take care when using life colours, I've used acrylics alot time and recently got a set if German dunkelgelb set from a friend he didn't like them but insee why they dry so fast on your airbrush tip! But it's not that I'm warning about asninsaid I use vallejo and Ak etc all the time I had an allergic conjunctivitis in my eyes a couple of month all over a sudden and on Monday it was back! And I couldn't think what it was nothing has changed till 8 thought it was the bergepanther I built last time using life colours same set and I am now building the sdk 7/2 halftrack with lake 43 and I have it again! I think it's the life colour paints! It has to be!
