Words of advice, dont start at the bottom of the piece or the completed section ends up in your lap, and use Blu Tac instead of wax its tackier and lasts ALOT longer. You can buy the stylus separately but you can also make your own from a biro. Ok enough said!

I'm just getting into Diamond dotz. Ive done 2 small kits, a butterfly & a cupcake and have two larger ones to do. A multicoloured cat and a gorgeous Pegasus. I've also got several other small ones to do and I'm going to do some christmas cards for my family and some close friends. The pictures look so stunning when they are done and it is super easy to do too. I usually listen to music while doing one. Very relaxing and calming. Great therapy for my depression & anxiety...

If you would like to do this I would not recommend buying a kit this expensive. You can kits MUCH cheaper on wish, walmart's website, or even amazon. I'm talking 5-10 dollars and you can get a nice kit. They all come with a stylus, bead tray, and wax. Though not the gripper, and most trays are a little more simple. Just search diamond embroidery or diamond painting. They're the same thing. I'm currently on my 4th kit, and have already bought a few more. They're very relaxing. And they come in much smaller sizes than this one if you want it to go faster. I also recommend buying a diamond box, Any place that sells the kit should have them. They look like pill sorters, or bead boxes, but they have individual containers for each color. I usually taking masking tape and put the corresponding symbol on each little section lid, so that they are super easy to find when you move on to the next color.

A couple of helpful tips when you do diamond paintings. Use common Blue tack instead of the wax. You can get weeks of work out of 1 insert to the stylus. The 2nd tip. To flatten out the canvas. Pull one corner of the plastic cover to the middle, then stick down the plastic again. Repeat on all 4 sides.
@jeannote55 жыл бұрын
Im happy that you heard about the diamond paint,im do this since 1 year and as you say its relaxing and 1tip for you thake the blue tack to stick paper on wall! It work well to take the diamond much more long time than the wax!
@tahneshamaeder80456 жыл бұрын
5d diamond paintings are really fun to do I've done a few so far. I found it easier to go get the little snack containers that come in a pack of 12 from the dollar store to put the diamonds in before I even start, just a piece of tape with the number/letter on the lid of the container so I know which colors are which that way I don't have to worry about spilling and I work a lot fast having the colors already to go from the start.

I was just about to say, this would be a great family activity if only there were more styluses. If they sell them separately, I'd be down for this. But it's extremely time consuming, and I imagine it would be hard to do anything else (watching TV or a movie, talking to people) because you spend so much time looking down.

You actually can travel with it or make it a portable activity. Or least I have. I take mine to work with me to do in my spare time. You just roll it back up the way it came in the box which shouldn't be that tight. And unroll it while working on it. If it gets to curvy to work on simply lie it out flat back at home somewhere and put some weight onto it for a few hours to overnight. It works a charm and the diamonds stick really well.

I've done a deadpool one I got off wish for $27 it took me over 40 hours and now I'm half way thru my second big one and already at 26 hours 11 minutes 65 rows in. So yes they do take a long time depending on the size and if it's a full painting or partial like yours is.(where parts of the picture do not require diamonds). Some I've had were as quick as 5 hours but they are still fun.

I'm so glad these are finally being sold at Michael's! I hope they make more varieties soon. You can find these kits all over the internet, but they usually take 2 months to ship because they normally come from China. So to have a few kits in local craft stores is amazing! I've done 3 of them so far and they definitely take forever, But if your not rushed then they are so relaxing and you can frame them when you finish and enjoy them forever :) Loved your video Sarah! The reason why the ab drills (the ones that like iridescent/metallic) are harder to stick is bc the extra shine is actually a plastic coating that makes it harder to stick. For those I use tweezers to place instead of the pen tho that does take does practice to get used to.

I have been doing these for a while now. I roll it up and put it in my backpack and take it to work. I work on it during lunch and breaks. I really like the ones that are beaded all the way to the edge. (Its called full drill) I’m currently working on a HUGE 3 pc tiger. I don’t think they are meant for you to just sit and work on them for hours and hours. I did 1 a few weeks ago and was just so ready to get it done I worked on it for 6 hrs and nearly killed my back. They really are fun to do and good to pass time when you are bored! I recommend giving them a shot. You can order them on eBay wish and also amazon Walmart.com if you do a search for 5d diamond painting you get all kinds of results.
