G'day from Australia, Solarbaits. Bennybaits here. Let me start by saying, I love the videos you make, and your skill as a lure maker is, in my opinion, second to none! And your happy go lucky, joking nature has to be half of what keeps people coming back. OK, enough brown nosing (you won't be able to fit your head through your workshop door). I'm an L.B.G fisherman on the east coast of Australia in New South Wales. I had an interest in making my own baits to save money, show of my art and there just wern't the right baits in my local fishing stores to match the bait being eaten by blue fin tuna, mackerel, mulloway etc in my area. One of your vids was the first I saw on KZbin, and at the end of it I liked, subscribed and smashed the notification bell straight away. I'm new to the airbrush, I paint cars etc with gravity feed guns and pressure pots, so am not unaccustomed to painting with pressure, but I just can't seem to get a good, consistent flow from the nozzle. I was wondering/hoping you could do a comprehensive painting video with info like what P.S.I your using at different stages, how/weather you mix thinners into the paint and what ratio, needle size you use etc etc. I assume from your vids your a busy man, but if you could shoot a vid like this, I and I'm sure many other aspiring lure makers would be eternally great full. And if you have already , please point me in the right direction. Thankyou from all the Aussie lure makers, for all the cool vids, and from me personally for taking the time to read this long winded comment/request. Keep up the awesome work. . . Bennybaits. Peace✌

Hey Solar, great painting again. Here are some suggestions for future baits that work great for pike in Canada, get ready for some spring fishing! They should be fun to make and different for a change. Also, a few simple ones that always work! for painting fun. links below, check out the 3D suicide duck, 3D pop frog and 3D rad. Should be fun to build (savage-gear.com/products/lures?Type=%5BTop%20Water%20Lures%5D ) the easy builds are also topwater, '' Heddon Zara Spook"" and some popper lures! Have fun! Let me know if you like the suggestions!

Can you do a video just on curing wood baits after adding weight to the belly? I make balsa jerkbaits for deep water fish off the coast of California and no matter what I use - wood filler, baking soda, putty - I can't get the belly as smooth as it was before drilling holes for the lead. Only thing I've had success with is two coats of epoxy and then sand. Even that isn't perfectly smooth. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Cheers!
@SolarfallBaits3 жыл бұрын
Balsa is a tricky one because its softer than the fillers your using so getting the holes completely smooth is a pain. You might want to try some other less soft wood.

Marble takes millions of years to produce patterns like that, you do it in a few hours, are you god? Nothing specific in mind but how about some gaudy colored tropical fish? Btw do you use the same paint for handpainting as in your air brush?
@SolarfallBaits3 жыл бұрын
Yes i use the same paint for hand painting stuff as i do with airbrushing.
