Absolutely Stunning! It takes a real love and understanding of wood to restore its beauty! This is a magnificent piece---a real work of art! I think taking the small brush to stain the dovetailing on the drawers was a fine touch---and using the darker stain for contrast, making the details stand out was perfect! U never use steel wool on oak AN u never put your hardware on till u finish the drawer front AN u finish the hardware before u put it on your stain was streaked always use a gel stain it goes on BETTER .

Hi Judith, unfortunately there were no makers marks anywhere on this piece as I always look for one before starting the restoration. I got this from a house clearance with a number of other pieces. It appeared the old man that had passed was a bit of a hoarder and his small house was full of lots of things including some lovey quality vintage furniture. 😀👍

I find this information interesting and helpful to know what to look for if I'm looking around for different things.
