I tried it in my condo and regretted it a few months later. It looks really cool and very convenient in the bedroom, but it absorbs so much light.

I painted my small hallway the ceiling in black and kept the other wall white and its really transform my space and look amazing. All my friends were all opposed to this idea but once they all seen it in real life, they were all pleasantly surprised of how good and dramatic it made just by simply painting my boring white ceiling to black. It gives so much dimension. Sometimes you gotta embrace a dark color in a dark room instead of trying to make it light and airy when the room doesn't receive much natural lighting.

Powder rooms is where this shines! ❤ mine looks fabulous! Used bright tropical wallpaper and a white wainscoting on the bottom and black and white hex flooring…it’s stunning!

hello im trying to find out if it is a good idea to paint whole room to black. it will be homegym / studio for making reels. but room have very low ceiling (2m). why i am considering this its because room is very big basement rooms and i have and idea that black can mitigate that line between walls and ceiling and create good effect. is it a good idea?

don't do this to me. I painted my tiny bathroom a super dark color and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I'm in the process of moving so no painting for now but I want to do it!!

Yes I did a hall with a 9 1/2 foot ceiling. I was afraid like most it would give the allusion of a lower ceiling but it didn’t. It looks great. Ceiling - Flat, Black Picture moulding - Satin, same Black Door casings and baseboards - Semi-gloss, White The two narrow end walls - Flat, same black The two longer walls - Eggshell, light bluish greenish Grey

I would say ceiling height would make a difference and how busy the rest of the room is. Not to mention room design style. Wouldn’t work for me. Interesting though…

Nope. House exterior, maybe. I have black quartz countertops and they’re beautiful, but I don’t want to paint my ceilings and walls black too.

There are more important things Feng Shui wise than the color of the ceiling to considerate. Julie Khuu makes a lot of videos about Feng Shui. I know she painted a bedroom all black for a client and they received so many compliments for that bedroom. I plan to "Feng Shui" proof my house and black ceilings is definitely something I will do, but not everywhere.

I disagree. I think a black ceiling looks lower. If you color drench, I believe it looks higher.
