Hannah Höch is a German artist who pioneered collage, was at the forefront of the Dada movement, and also someone who created numerous paintings thoughout her career. In this video we look at some of her works, and discuss her life, inspiration, and struggles which she overcame.
She was someone who had to endure sexism within society at large, and also within her supposedly progressive circle of artist friends and colleagues. A true pioneer, Hannah was influential in the creation of photo montage as a genre, and had a career which spanned over 60 years.
